Crazy Cat Lady

Jan 31, 2012

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day! This week is gonna get so crazy. The Music Department at William Jessup University records a CD every year, and this is the week are doing it. It’s a really super tedious process, but the end result is so worth it, and the group really comes together like a little family. So even though it’s not exactly the funnest process in the world, I look forward to it. Weird right?

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear yesterday. This sweater was a thrifted find from Saturday. My mom found it, and It looked kinda crazy on the rack, but once I actually tried it one, I was sold. I guess it still looks kinda crazy, but I think it’s awesome! The collar is what really grabbed attention. I think I’ll be finding multiple things to wear with this little guy.

Not too sure why I look so scared here... What a weirdo.
Yesterday somehow went from sunny and kind of warm to cloudy and gloomy, so the cloudy fans I’m sure rejoiced, but for sunshine addicts like myself, I think it just left us confused. I ended up having to change by the end of the day.

Well everyone, that’s about it for me today. Recording or no recording there’s always tons to do! I’ll see you soon!

The Boringest Post Ever Posted In The History of Posts

Jan 30, 2012

Hello everyone! Happy monday to you! since my husband has the camera cord with him today, while I did take pictures of my current outfit, I have no way of loading them onto my computer how sad. AND how annoying that the words of this post are in this weird column. Sorry about that. I have a sneaking suspicion it has to do with this polyvore set.

ANYWAYS, I've been in a really sweet cutesy clothes mood lately, I just want to look like little french girl Madeline every single day! I dont know why. I'm just overcome by cuteness I guess. So here's what I would wear if I could just form clothes with the power of my mind!

Untitled #4

Even if you cannot hear my voice, I'll be right beside you, dear

Jan 28, 2012

Hello Everyone! Happy Saturday to you!  I hope your weekend is starting out right! Mine totally is, I'm in Stockton today to celebrate my mom's birthday! Her friends all pitched in to buy she and my dad a weekend away in Mendocino! Let me tell you, no one deserves a beautiful weekend like my parents, so I'm so happy they get to go do that.

Anyways, this outfit is actually not what I decided to wear today. I wore this yesterday. But I have to say, I'm really proud of this skirt, because I altered it to be a mullet skirt! I loved it as a normal ol' skirt, but now its so much more fun as as mullet skirt. It was super easy too. I have a feeling this won't be the only skirt I do this with. I was so excited about it that I forgot to cut a few strings from the hem, but whatever.

I'm really into the color combo of this outfit. Peach, Grey, Denim, Black, White. Please let me wear this every single day.

This shot really shows the strings... whoopsie! the reason I decided to make this into a mullet skirt was because I bought these little boots, and I couldn't find a single thing to wear with them, and I was scared that I would have to return them, but alas, my creative brain had a breakthrough. These tights are not my favorite, becasue they make my legs look all bruised up, but they're the only sheer grey tights I have, sue me.
 Ugh, the colors. My favorite.
And last but not least, the boots.
Well everyone that's about it for me today. I have no clue whats planned for the rest of my day, but I'm sure I can think of something fun, but for now, I'll continue watching this Snow Patrol DVD that I've had on while I work on this blog. So Incredibly awesome. Have a great great great Saturday! See you soon!

If I live far away from Freestyle, where do I look for vintage?

Jan 27, 2012

Hello everyone! TGIF right? Man, what a crazy week! Today I made the concerted decision not to get cute. I mean, I don't look like a wreck, but I certainly don't look blogworthy. BUT instead of just ignoring the blogosphere, I decided to share with you some of the Etsy shops that I just can't get enough of.

Let me first say this: When it comes to Vintage, I mostly just go to Freestyle. The store in Downtown Sacramento has  the best Vintage, and the prices are really super good. Vintage can be kinda pricy, and the downtown Freestyle the number one place to go... but what if you live really far away, and get there? No worried Vintage hunter friends! Here are some shops that I make sure I visit atleast once a week!

Brainstorm Vintage
This shop is the number 1 go to for rare vintage dooneys, and you know how I feel about a good Dooney bag. Here are few examples of what I'm talking about
Spring Fever Vintage:
The girls that run this shop are super duper cute, and so are the things in their shop. I would wear this dress every freaking day!
Little Raisin Vintage:
If you're looking for really fun and colorful vintage, look no furthder. PLUS look at these awesome shoes!

Trashy Vintage:
This little halter is anything but trashy!

Well everyone! Be sure to click on the links which are the titles of the store and take a look for yourself. Like Levar Burton on Reading Rainbow, these are all cute stores, but don't take my word for it!! See you soon!!

They Can't Play in the Rock Quarry, There's Rocks Down There!

Jan 26, 2012

Hello Everyone! It's thursday! The even of the weekend. I can say as for myself, this has been a really great week! Senior Recital well on its way, Packages from my shop shipped (say that three times fast!), and I got the retail job of my dreams at Freestyle (thanks for your prayers and well wishes everyone), Hooray! AND also, the Muppets is in the cheap theatre!! I have to say, I can't get enough of 'em! I'm gonna make my husband take me:)

ANYWAYS! Hat people of this world: welcome me to your ranks. I have found, not one, but two hats that I absolutely love!  Now I'm on the hunt for more. This is what I decided to wear today. This green dress has got to be one of the most versatile things have ever owned. It's gonna go a long way for me I think.

The weird background of these pictures is outsite of Jessup in the parking lot! haha.

This dress could seriously fit any sized human being. It's so roomy. Also, it's completely sheer, so underneath this dress is the AA blue racer back tank dress. Otherwise this dress would cause quite the scandal!

Well everyone, thats about it for me today! I hope you've all had a great week! I sure did! I can't believe all the things I've gotten accomplished! hooray for me, and hopefull hooray for you as well as you prepare to go into the weekend! See you soon!

A continual atmosphere of hectic passion

Jan 24, 2012

Hi Everyone! I hope you're having a great week thus far. Mine's been pretty uneventful. Thus far, but we shall see. I've already ran my errands and I still have school and worship practice, so even thought it's already the afernoon, I stil have a full day ahead of me. Should be fun!

One fun thing that I did do was... interview at Freestyle! They are opening a Folsom store, and I can't think of more of a dream part-time job, which hopefully after graduation would turn into more than that! So, prayers and well wishes would be very much appreciated.

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. How fun is this little red hat? I can already hear my mom "you look like a little red hat lady". Well, to that I say... today, I litterally am a red hat lady. It really has a fun vibe I think.

Just an FYI, I am in fact wearing tights. My legs, while they have not seen the light of day since last july, aren't that white, but I'm pretty sure they're not far off.

Well everyone, thats about it for me, I have to rush off to school. I wanted to make sure I was able to get an interview, so thats why this post is so brief. So much to do, so little time. See you soon!

Blog Feature: Broken 2 Restored

Jan 23, 2012

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you. Let me tell you first off the fact that I survived my very stormy drive to school this morning is a total miracle. I left for  class early so that I would have enough time to drive slow and take back roads the whole time. I made it safe and sound :)
ANYWAYS! A few months ago, I met a very special girl in the youth group that Nathan and I are leaders in, named Marissa. Being totally burdened by the Lord to serve people in poverty and really wanting to them to know the love of Jesus, she used her creative gifting to start a little business that is %100 non-profit. It completely runs on donations, and all profit, every single penny goes to a missionary organization called Speed The Light. Her small, but all ready thriving, company is called Broken 2 Restored. What she has done is gathered old t-shirts that people don't wear and turned them into super on trend necklaces, which she sells for $5 a peice. Every penny goes to Speed The Light in efforts to rescue young girls from the horror sex-trafficking.

Isn't she absolutely wonderful?! If you ever get the chance to chat with her in person, which I hope you do, you will be able to see that without a shadow of a doubt that her heart for these girls to know the love of Jesus is really what she is aiming for. I have personally seen these necklaces fly off the table at youth conferences. It's absolutely a pleasure for me to get to tell you all about what Marissa is doing for Speed the Light.
How can you help you ask? Well, let me tell you! It's very easy actually. You can go over to her shop by clicking on the following link http://www.etsy.com/shop/brokentorestored. If there's a particular color that you want that you don't see in the shop, just send her the t-shirt in the desired color!

Marissa and her T-shirt donation box.
Well everyone, thats about it for today! Be sure to visit the Broken 2 Restored Facebook page and click like, and if you feel so compelled, leave her an encouraging message. Be sure to visit the etsy page and check em out, and even though I mostly discused the necklaces there are tons of ways you can wear it! Just check it out! Even though $5 sounds like hardly anything, it really enough to change a life! See you soon!

Yo Adrian, I did it

Jan 21, 2012

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s been quite a week for me! Back to school, and craziness abounding. I still have so much to do it’s sick, but that’s okay. I like being busy actually! I love being productive. I shipped off a few orders from my Etsy shop, and turned in my rented movie (wow… redbox gets expensive when life gets busy!), and last and most importantly… I have booked my Senior Recital. that’s right everyone. Everything I have to show my musical career as a music Student at William Jessup University will come to pass on May 5th in the William Jessup University Lecture Hall at 7:30pm. Wow… I really can’t wait.  It’s kind of ironic thinking that I have more time to plan this recital than I did to plan my own wedding! Haha.

Anyways, This is what I decided to wear today. The weather has taken a turn for the cold and windy. I mean… it is winter, so I guess that nice warm weather wasn’t going to last forever! Also... doesn't this look like something Adrian, Rocky Balboa's wife, would wear? Thats a plus for me. Also a plus,  I found a gigantic hole in the fence and ventured into the complex next door, and found even better scenery! Adventure!!

You can’t even really tell, but this dress is asymmetrical. It’s one of those mullet style dresses. It’s also short sleeved. But I covered it up with a sweater and a coat.

Aren’t these boots glorious? I decided that I was over my black over the knee boots, so I sold them at Freestyle. And Lo and behold, these beauteous boots came into the store. It was like they were waiting for me to need different boots. I couldn’t resist them.

Anywyas, that’s about it for me today. I really liked this picture spot, so on the days I’m not taking pictures at school, I might make this one of my regular locales. We’ll see. Well everyone, I hope your weekend is awesome! See you soon.

Good habits are worth being fanatical about

Jan 18, 2012

It's that time again everyone. School. And you know what that means: Starbucks. All the time. But let me tell you why, before all you coffee snobs cyber punch me in the face. If it were up to me, I would just brew my own and bring it to school and use the internet there. However, the internet at school is awful and the server doesn't support blogger...or just about any site other than Jessup related sites, so down the street I go. ANYWAYS... school is back in, and I am facing my very last semester. Thats right folks, I'm graduating in May. Adulthood is looming.

ANYWAYS! I no longer am required to go to chapel (thanks old catelogue!), so while everyone is being a good person and worshiping the Lord, I was being vain and taking gratuitous pictures of myself for this blog. And while I know things are about to get super duper busy, I'm gonna take advantage of all this freetime I have.

Well, this is what I decided to wear today. This little trench is so sweet and cutesy, that I can feel myself getting cavities. I love it so much. And even though it's super cold (it's finally winter!), I'm really glad it's kind of light, because that means I can wear it all year long. How cute would this be on an over cast beachy chilly morning over a little dress? I'm in love.
If you weren't able to tell based on the background of the first picture, the buildings on the inside of Jessu are really beautiful and vibrant colors. I knew exactly where I was going when I was thinking about taking pictures. I've actually taken pictures out here before for this post in front of the yellow dorm.

I thought my alarm was going to go off plenty early for me to get my 8am class. Well...I was wrong, so I had absolutely no time to do my hair or makeup... so glasses and hats it is!
How incredible are the print, buttons, and color of this dress? This dress is currently part the pink tag stuff at Freestyle, if you live in Citrus Heights or Sacramento, get yourself over there so you can get one before they all run out!

How Precious is this classic little coach buddy? When I saw this hanging in Freestyle, I knew it had to be mine. The condition is so beautiful, it looks like no one had ever carried it.
Because it's pretty deep for it's size, it's like this beautiful little leather box. It perfectly fits everything I need to survive
Keys, Phone, Wallet, Sunglasses, lipgloss, and even my camera squeezes in there! Perfection.

Well everyone, thats about it for me today. Before I go, please take the time to read this article put out by Google. https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/. If you noticed, the google homepage has a censor bar over it. This is because there are two bills being passed around in Washington that are encouraging internet censorship. It will essentially end all creative internet ventures for people like you and me. It's very political and is being funded by special interest groups that dont care at all about the little guy. Please please please do some research on this bill. It is bad news, and it is un-American. If any one of these bills ends up passing, I will not be seeing you soon.
