It's Not That You Should Care, I Just Wanted You To Know

Feb 29, 2012

Hello everyone! I feel like it's been forever since I've posted anything. I know it's really just been a few days, but it feels like a long time to me! Anyways the reason for the little break has been because of two things: I have no clean clothes, and I have no time.
Life has just continued to get more crazy, and while I'm loving it, some things kind of have to be put further back on the shelf, and since this blog will not be a determining factor as to whether or not I'll be graduating from college, it's rank on the list of priorities is relatively low. Sorry.
I remember this time last spring semester school was unflinchingly crazy, so I'm not surprised, but I really do hate not having the time to blog and relax. blogging relaxes me! Any of you blogging peoples out there, do you relate?
Anyways, here's my outfit of the day. This sweater is actually in my shop right now for sale. The collar on this sweater is what really drew me to it. I love the peter-pan-ness of it, and the little rhinestones... they're cute and tasteful not crazy like a rock-of-love contestant.

The dress under the sweater is such an old stand-by. It's strapless so it really does go under anything, and since it's smocked, I can totally adjust it to make it longer or shorter. And while I'm really not emotionally attached to my clothes, I got engaged in this dress at disneyland, so I really love it for that reason as well.

Well you guys, thats about it for me today! Don't forget to stop by the shop and check out all the goodies, that are no 20% off with coupon! Also, if you're a current WJU student at the Rocklin Campus, your shipping is free!!

See you soon!!

Friends Are Friends Forever WJU Feature: Rachel Jackson

Feb 15, 2012

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a terrific Valentine's day! I for sure did! Nathan and I went to our favorite Thai Food place in Citrus Heights called Lada Thai... man, I love Thai food. It was so delicious, and romantic. Its always nice to know that there is great locally owned restaurant that you won't have to wait 45 minutes for. I decided not to take my camera because well... sometime I don't want to share my dates. Maybe that sounds mean, but it's not. Would you want 100 people on your date?

Anyways!! This is what I decided to wear today. Is it taboo to take pictures of yourself for fashion's sake in the school library? This is the second time I've done this. Books just make such a cool background! Also, I found myself in the Theater section, so the books were really interesting!

This is actually what I wore on my Valentine's date last night, and I really wanted to wear it again today so I did! I know I'm not the only person who thinks "no saw me wear this yesterday, so I'm gonna wear it today." You know what the glasses mean: no make up. Thanks 8am classes!

Also: I felt like today was a great day for a Jessup feature. Just feat your eyes on this beautious beauty, Rachel! Rachel is my dearest dear of a friend at school, and I truly do adore her. Her style is seriously matched by no one. I have seen other people around town wear this coat, and the coat actually wears them, not the case here! It takes a very special woman to wear a coat of this magnitude, and Rachel pulls if off without a problem.
One thing I really admire about Rachel's style is that she adds a really unique ethnic/hippie flare without it looking silly or over the top. This necklace is proof of that.
Since Rachel is one of my dearest friends and we hang out often, she has actually been seen on this blog many times, but now you can see her as she normally is! believe it or not, she's not constantly doing yoga!
Well everyone!! Thats about it for me today! I added tons of new and great things to the shop yesterday, and there will be more added today! keep your eyes peeled!! have a great Wednesday everyone! you're half way there! see you soon!

Crazy Cat Lady

Jan 31, 2012

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day! This week is gonna get so crazy. The Music Department at William Jessup University records a CD every year, and this is the week are doing it. It’s a really super tedious process, but the end result is so worth it, and the group really comes together like a little family. So even though it’s not exactly the funnest process in the world, I look forward to it. Weird right?

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear yesterday. This sweater was a thrifted find from Saturday. My mom found it, and It looked kinda crazy on the rack, but once I actually tried it one, I was sold. I guess it still looks kinda crazy, but I think it’s awesome! The collar is what really grabbed attention. I think I’ll be finding multiple things to wear with this little guy.

Not too sure why I look so scared here... What a weirdo.
Yesterday somehow went from sunny and kind of warm to cloudy and gloomy, so the cloudy fans I’m sure rejoiced, but for sunshine addicts like myself, I think it just left us confused. I ended up having to change by the end of the day.

Well everyone, that’s about it for me today. Recording or no recording there’s always tons to do! I’ll see you soon!

Owl is the grand and rather clever old man of the forest

Jan 11, 2012

Good morning everyone! I'ts offically Wednesday, the official middle of the week-day. I have finally started checking off things on my million-mile long to-do list. First two things: book a venue for my senior recital, and copy all of my music for my accompanist. For those of you who care enough, I'll give you info if you want to come. It's free! ha.

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. You cant tell by this picture, but there is a definite theme going, and you'll figure it out by the end of this post for sure:)

It's a lazy day for make-up so the glasses are on. Also, it was too chilly this morning, and so I decided to take my pictrues inside. As you can see, I didn't take the garland down from Christmastime. Who says it has to be Christmas-y right? I really like it, so I'm gonna leave it!
How could I possibly resist this sweater once I saw the back of it? I love love love owls! they are such cool animals! Did you know they are silent when they fly? they are like... these perfectly aero-dynamic creatures. I dont know. pretty sweet, and they'res so many different kinds! my personal favorite kind is the white barn owl, They have such beautiful faces. alright, enough Planet Earth geekery.

This outfit probably has more owly stuff than any other outfit I have ever worn. But why not wear what you love right? Nathan also shares this love of owls, so we decided to litter our entire apartment with owl stuff. Even our Wedding invites had owls...That Nathan hand-painted, from a painting that hangs on our wall.

Well everyone, thats about it for me today. Hope you enjoyed owlfest 2012. It's been a fun one! I'm going out for lunch today with the ever beautious, Rachel 2. I'm Rachel 1, only because I'm older. 2 Rachel freinds eating lunch together! how fun! Anyways, time for errands (real ones)!! See you soon.

Ice Cream For Breakfast

Jan 10, 2012

Hello Everyone!! I hope you're having a great week thus far. It's been pretty uneventful for us thus far. To be honest, thats exactly how I like it. However, I did magage to create a to-do list for my senior recital, and it did kind of spark a mini anxiety explosion, there's so much to do! I Just resolved to worrying about it when the time actually comes. No use in excessive worry! Also, to comfort myself in these last few days of winter break I had a nice huge bowl of ice cream for breakfast. Don't judge! Have you ever had the chocolate fudge and peanut butter ice cream from Target? It tastes exactly like the kind from B&R, which is my very favorite kind! Trust me, in tough times, you would do the same! Wow. I'm hilarious.

Anyways! this is what I decided to wear today! This little dress was screaming my name in the dressing room while I was trying it on. It's so cute! It's actually a racer back tank style, which really makes it sweater friendly. I hate when the 3/4 length sleeves of my dresses get all mushed up in the sleeves of my sweater. Nothing to be concered about with this little beauty. The only thing I'm kicking myself over now is, I now have to find something else to wear for Valentine's day! Wow.... bad planning. Guess I'm just gonna have to find something else :)

This outfit is a 90's extravaganza with this cardigan and dress combo. I don't mind! I happen to love 90's extravaganzas! Any excuse to use the word extravaganza is also not so bad!

Ummmm how fun are these crazy little booties! I found these at Buffalo on Haight during my San Francisco trip! There's no way I could wear these bad boys to work today, so I actually do have to change my shoes later today. They also kind of make me feel like I have horse hooves (hoofs?) when I walk.

Okay, and before I go, I have to share these pictures of our dear friend's little girl, June.  Her dad is always telling me to feature her on this blog, and I honestly don't know why she hasn't shown up on here. I mean... she's a million times more cute than me. She was bringing the metal after youth group on Sunday night. Her dad is the guy with glasses...on the left. Jordan and the guy on the far right, Sean, are also in Kingdom.
Okay. Seriously?! Nathan said he just picked up the book and she just sat right down on his foot! Have you ever seen anything more cute in your whole freaking life? I definitely haven't. This was a very heart-melting moment for me. June and Nathan are best friends. Look at her little hand! ugh! so cute!

Well now that your hearts are all in puddles on the floor, thats about it for me today. I really need to get working on those things on my to-do list. Keep your eyes on the store, there are things added all the time! I hope you all have a great rest of your day! I'll see you soon!

A house needs a grandma in it

Jan 3, 2012

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had a great week thus far. I sure did. I started it off yesterday with the thrifting marathon of the year with my mom. I seriously could not have had a better thrifting day. I found so much great stuff. I can't wait to share with you all on this blog. Part of what makes going to the thrift store so fun is the fact that I do go with my mom. She is seriously the best shopping partner. sometimes I think people just tell you that the things you pick our are cute because they don't want to hurt your feelings, but not my mom, she'll always tell me if something is just plain weird or too worn to be redeemed. What a true shopping friend.

Anyways, we are back in town now, and to greatest dismay, Nathan is sick. He's got some kind of bad cold, or something. So, I'm playing nurse while he gets better. I've already done my wifely/nursely duties by going to target and picking up some crazy cold medicine, and soup, and treats for when you get sick. It's a real bummer, I always hate to see my wubby not at 100%, it makes me sad!

Well... this is what I decided to wear today. Is this not the coolest sweater you have ever seen? I just couldn't pass it up, it's just too cool of a vintage peice. The colors are awesome, the pattern is just out of control. I have a rule regarding clothes, where only one peice of the outfit can be the star, even if you're mixing prints. It's pretty obviousl this sweater is the star of my outfit!

My goodness! Have you ever seen a more awesome pattern on a sweater? Neither have I! Look at it! Wow...

In case there have ever been days where you wondered "I wonder if she is showing off her wedding ring..." the answer is 100% yes. I am not a huge jewlery person at all. I'm really not a big fan of things that tend to be really expensive (remember the part about me loving the thrift store). But besides my ring being special because it's my wedding ring, this ring is especially special because it was inherited! This beautiful ring was Nathan's grandmother's ring from his mother's side. It really is an honor that my mother-in-law thought me worthy of wearing it.

you can't deny a classic. These are among my very favorite shoes that I own. Scared shins everywhere should run and hide at the sight of them. Just kidding! I would never kick anyone in the shin!
Well everyone, thats about it for me today. I decided that I would put this sweater in the store, so you can click on the "store" tab to check it out a little more closely. But just so you know, I'm probably gonna wear it until it sells, and It'll be a sad day for me to see it go... But, I can't keep all the great vintage to myself, I need to share it with the world!! I hope the rest of your week goes great! I need to get back to nursing my wubby back to health! I'll see you soon!

I'm a bit of lunatic with shoes and jackets and jeans

Nov 11, 2011

Hi everyone! Happy Friday everyone! It's finally that day of the week that means no school tomorrow. I know you're thinking, "but didn't you ditch school yesterday?". The answer is yes, but there's a small sense (very small sense) of guilt associated with with ditching school. There's not one ounce of guilt on Saturday, it's just a free day. Well, not totally free, I have homework, but I can do it at starbucks, not at school, which I love!

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. I might be late to the party on this, but I've found my new favorite jeans, and they are the J.Crew Matchstick jean. They're not skin tight like a skinny jean (thought skin-tight jeans have their place in this world), but they aren't like an awkward boot cut, they're just perfect. I want another pair soon. AND they dont stretch and get weird by the end of the day. Perfection.

In case you even care, there are no christmas ornaments in that box. Only Nathan's paintings. I've been gettign afew comments on them as I begin to take pictures indoors. It's just too cold to go out without a big coat, He does sell his paintings, but beware, they are always paintings that make some sort of social point, they're not always just feel-good cutesy stuff. In fact, they almost never are. But thats something about Nathan I have always admired, his conviction to stand up for what's right. What a man.
Despite the fact that my face looks totally weird here, doesn't it kind of look like a crown of Dandilions around my head? How fun!

Here's the painting that crowing my head earlier. Isn't it neat? It was the first Christmas present Nathan ever gave. I think we had only been dating for about a month. It has a really sweet little letter written on the back of the canvas. Sometimes when I'm feeling blue, I take the painting off the wall and read it, then I feel better.
This was my valentines day present. It's a love pig! I know, it seems really strange a two-headed yellow pig, but let me explain. In Mexico, you can buy these little cerdito souvenirs. They're little piggy-banks that are painted with all sorts of beautiful colors. I have about... 1000 of them, I just love them. That's what this pictures is. Its a little bank, only it has two heads. The head with the mustache is Nathan, and I'm the one with rosy cheeks. It also has a cute little message. Gosh, I love my little paintings.
Well everyone, thats about it for me today. Since I didn't do anything school related yesterday, I should probably do some school related things today. Maybe not. Who knows. There are always so many fun things to do. Anyways, I hope you all have a great rest of your Friday, and an even better Saturday! See you soon!
