I'm a professional. I've had three performances

Feb 10, 2012

Hello Everyone!! I hope you're all havign a great day! Hooray for Friday! The weather could not be more perfect I have to say! It's been really sunny and perfect this week...even for California. Being up in Northern California we do have mild season change, and February is usually our rainy month, but no this year I guess! Weird.

Anyways! This is what I decided to wear today. Sandals and Sleevless! Can you believe it?! I've been pretty loyal to my daily blog reading, and a few of the ladies that I follow show tons of snow in their photo backgrounds! I took these photos this morning, and I wasn't even cold...and I'm always cold!

This mustardy color isn't one that I typically wear. However, I really loved the filly neckline, and I figured that I would give this color a try. I thought that it might make my super pale skin look kind of jaundiced, but I was pleasantly suprised.
Here's a good example of second day hair. I'm becoming more and more inclined to wear it down. That just means I have to wash it.

I found these little beauties at Freestyle, and the girl who sold them told me that she couldn't find anything to wear them with! To that I simply replied with "Turquoise is a neutral! You could wear these with anything!" I firmly believe that of these sandals. Also. I'm extremely glad to be wearing sandals in February.
OKAY story time. So I was watching Parks and Rec like normal, and I don't normally pay attention to the million nic-nacs that Nathan and I have collected for our shelf while watching TV...but I felt something staring into my soul. When I looked up I noticed that one of my Madame Alexander McDonalds dolls was staring right at me!!!! How creepy right? I think Michael Jordan was holding her back...thats what the situation looks like on film atleast. Oh life.
Well everyone, thats about it for me today! Enjoy the rest of your Friday, and have a wonderful weekend!! See you soon!

Guest Blogger: Candy from Taylor And Demolish

Dec 1, 2011

Hey everyone! So here's kind of a new concept for Parrish the Thought: A GUEST BLOGGER! Why did I never think to do this before?! ANYWAYS!

You have to meet this girl. She came to me via IFB message, and I was drawn to her instantly. Her city style is so great, and she is so bold and brave. Here's an introduction to her blog, I hope you love her, because, well... us Sacramento people could use a little New Yorker style in our lives! Plus the fact, that it's probably imperative that you click on her DIY posts. SO... without Further a do: Candy!!

I've always been awkward when it came to using words to describe myself, so I've always hoped that describing myself visually did a much better job.  My love for things edgy and soft comes from the fire I have in my heart for God and my desire to be more kindhearted like Him.  I'm the Christian who wears black lipstick.  I'm the accountant who rocks a mohawk.  I'm the runner and workout fiend who is obsessed with chocolate.  I appear to be a contorted bag of contradictions but what I really am...is just me.  I love rich (in color) and expensive (in quality) clothing but I love making things on my own, so my fashion blog, taylor & DEMOLISH, was created.  At taylor & DEMOLISH, I express everything I love about fashion, explain my personal style, and host all of my DIY projects.  I'm so grateful to God for every amazing opportunity I've received from my blog and it because of that alone that I make sure to always stay true to myself and my OWN personal style in everything I post.

Thats about it for me today. Life has been busier than ever, is this the same for you? I'm going nuts I feel like. Have a great rest of your week, the weekend is coming soon! Yes, Lord! See you soon

I'm a bit of lunatic with shoes and jackets and jeans

Nov 11, 2011

Hi everyone! Happy Friday everyone! It's finally that day of the week that means no school tomorrow. I know you're thinking, "but didn't you ditch school yesterday?". The answer is yes, but there's a small sense (very small sense) of guilt associated with with ditching school. There's not one ounce of guilt on Saturday, it's just a free day. Well, not totally free, I have homework, but I can do it at starbucks, not at school, which I love!

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. I might be late to the party on this, but I've found my new favorite jeans, and they are the J.Crew Matchstick jean. They're not skin tight like a skinny jean (thought skin-tight jeans have their place in this world), but they aren't like an awkward boot cut, they're just perfect. I want another pair soon. AND they dont stretch and get weird by the end of the day. Perfection.

In case you even care, there are no christmas ornaments in that box. Only Nathan's paintings. I've been gettign afew comments on them as I begin to take pictures indoors. It's just too cold to go out without a big coat, He does sell his paintings, but beware, they are always paintings that make some sort of social point, they're not always just feel-good cutesy stuff. In fact, they almost never are. But thats something about Nathan I have always admired, his conviction to stand up for what's right. What a man.
Despite the fact that my face looks totally weird here, doesn't it kind of look like a crown of Dandilions around my head? How fun!

Here's the painting that crowing my head earlier. Isn't it neat? It was the first Christmas present Nathan ever gave. I think we had only been dating for about a month. It has a really sweet little letter written on the back of the canvas. Sometimes when I'm feeling blue, I take the painting off the wall and read it, then I feel better.
This was my valentines day present. It's a love pig! I know, it seems really strange a two-headed yellow pig, but let me explain. In Mexico, you can buy these little cerdito souvenirs. They're little piggy-banks that are painted with all sorts of beautiful colors. I have about... 1000 of them, I just love them. That's what this pictures is. Its a little bank, only it has two heads. The head with the mustache is Nathan, and I'm the one with rosy cheeks. It also has a cute little message. Gosh, I love my little paintings.
Well everyone, thats about it for me today. Since I didn't do anything school related yesterday, I should probably do some school related things today. Maybe not. Who knows. There are always so many fun things to do. Anyways, I hope you all have a great rest of your Friday, and an even better Saturday! See you soon!

Here We Are On The Ocean Waves Floating Away

Oct 18, 2011

Hi everyone!! Hope your week is going awesome thus far, mines going pretty great. Mondays have all of the sudden become my favorite day of the work-week. Why is that you ask? Well, I'll tell you! I've dropped two classes because I don't need them to graduate (boo yah!), making my day on monday last from 8-930am! Which gives me a bajillion hours to do homework, and if I dont have homework, it gives me a bajillion hours to work on this blog and shop it up! If only I could be paid to shop it up and blog it up... Hooray!!

Anyways, this is not what I decided to wear today, this is what I decided to wear on Saturday over the weekend. I wore something totally different today. But let me comment on these little boots. Nathan put these on hold for me at Freestyle, and when I saw them, I knew in that instant that I was in love...with those boots.

Little kitty is guarding me. I did some investigative work and walked around the fence to see what he was guarding me from, and there was a huge/scary black cat with a huge head! Good thing Little Kitty was there!
I love this little nesting doll necklace, I've had it for quite a few years. I dont bring her out as much as I should. She has so much character! Her face is so sweet!

Oh yes, here is a closer view of my boots. Thanks wubby!!

From the moment I met little kitty, I was pretty much in love. I wasn't sure if Nathan was totally sold yet, but I bought him some food and left it outside for him so if he wanted to stop by, he could have a little snack...well I had to being the food inside and here's why... a possum!! Scary! He ate every single little bit of food!! I didn't buy that catfood for him! Rude.
Well everyone, thats about it for me today. I'm thinking about doing a post on how to dress appropriately for various occasions, and why modesty is always a good idea. If you have any thoughts or questions, I would love to hear them!! Have a great day everyone. I'll see you soon!!

The opportunity for doing mischief is found a hundred times a day

Aug 16, 2011

Hello Everyone!! Today is the day that I post my 100th entry!!! Crazy!! Now granted I haven't posted 100 different outfits, but I'm sure it comes close. The thought of 100 different outfits is pretty crazy. It makes me feel like a hoarder! Good thing I'm a major patron of Freestyle, and I'm not opposed to donating to the Salvation army! Things could get out of control.

Anyways, this starbucks that I'm sitting at while typing this blog has their music turned up so loud. I'm all for loud music, but seriously, when everyone at the store has to yell, thats just too much. I have to be honest with you about something right now, and this is the first time I'm doing this, but, I'm seriously here just for the internet! I'm on my way to Shady to have coffee with Erin so I don't wanna get too hyped up, so I'm not ordering anything here! What cheap-o I am. I guess I could type my blog at Shady, but I dont like typing while trying to chat with friends, I can't do them both, and usually it's the friend who suffers... it's bad manners.

Anyways, this is what I've decided to wear today. I wore this dress pretty recently, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. It's literally the comfiest thing I've ever worn. It'll definitely have to be put up during the winter, it'll be wayyy too cold for the winter, so I feel like I havet o get as much wear out of it as I can before it starts geting cold.

Recently I've ventured into the world of trendy lipsticks. My favorite trend right now is hot pink. You can't really tell in this pictures, but this lipstick is much more vivid in person. I thought it would make my teeth look really yellow, but turns out, it's not so bad.

Look at this little guy! He slipped under the fence and kept me company for a little while. I'm not cat person really, but thats because unfortunately, I'm very allergic, but I think I would like cats a lot more if I weren't. Look how cute this little buddy is!

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck

Hi everyone!! Happy saturday. Nathan and I are in Stockton this weekend. I've just returned from the Thrift Store with my mom. We like to tell my dad that we're going to "run errands". But he's a smart guy, he always knows where we're going. I got lots of special prizes for the nezt week. Very excited to share, tons of vintage. I'm serious as ever when I say that Stockton has the best thrift stores. I've never been to any better. Even now that I live in a more metropolitan area.

Anyways, This is not what I wore today, I wore this a few days ago. the outfit I'm wearing today isn't so great. You know, errand running clothing. Originally this outfit didn't include the blazer, but just the top is a lot of floral. I remember the weather being really strange that day. It was really cold when I put the outfit on, and by the time I got to Freestyle to do a little shopping, I it ws freaking 80 degrees, and I was sweating my brains out. Annoying. I'm also starting to get tired of blogging about bi-polar weather.
This day was clearly a no-make up day.

While the print on this shirt is really wild, I never get tired of it. I love the vintage-y floral. The colors are just perfect. I'm also growing increasingly obsessed with the color of this nail polish. It's just from Target. Nothing special really.
These holey jeans are from the Gap, that I picked up from Freestyle quite a while ago. I haven't found any that I like better, so the holes just get bigger and bigger, until eventually I'm going to have to cut them into shorts. That will be a sad day...

But these vans never fail to impress. They are so comfy, and they never let me down. They add instant old-fashion-ness to everything, which I always appreciate.
Well everyone thats about it for me today. Can't wait to share my newly thrifted finds with you. It's always great coming back from the hunt with tons of great stuff. See you soon?

Apr 4, 2011

Good morning everyone! I'm once again being an awful person and blogging during class. Was your weekend good? Mine was. It wasn't really that exciting, I did a lot of homework, and I just slep a lot, which is great, because I hardly slept at all over the past two weeks. I really needed the rest.

I did however sell at Freestyle, and that was fun. I didn't make a killing, but I didn't bring in a lot. I bought a few new things, and like always, I love chatting with the adorable girls that work there (not to mention the attractive man-help). We also took a friend of ours form out of town to The Squeeze Inn. Have you ever been there? They were featured on 'Diners Drive-ins and Dives"! Isn't that crazy?! It's no wonder really, their food is delish. It's fun to have a place thats the super great, thats specific to the Sacramento area. Also a fun fact: I went to Prom and Winter Formal with the Owner's son in High School, Good ol' Jim Elliot!! I should find the pictures from that and put them on here. Good times.

This is what I decided to wear today. I have an audition today for a singing group at Jessup that has a choreography section, so I couldn't wear a long flowy dress with cute little sandals. That would be all bad. So this outfit is a little bit different than what I'm used to wearing. AND while I'm used to wearing skinny jeans/jeggings, I'm not really used to wearing tops that aren't super long, or wearing a sweater thats super long. So, as you might notice, I'm pretty....womanly! hahaha!! So in short, this outfit makes me a slightly self conscious!

How cute/sweet/fun is this little ring?! It's a little cat! Now, I'm not a cat person by any stretch, I only like one cat, and that's my Aunt Anita's Cat Yoda, who I will feature on this blog one day because he's a wonder of this world, BUT, this ring is so cute. It was only $5!! and I'm sure its no suprise that I found it at Freeestyle.
Here's a tiny little glimpse into the course of my weekend. Homework, Squeeze Inn, and other weird findings!!
Well everyone thats about it for me. Look at those burgers! That yellow around the burger is the cheese! I can't eat it all, it's wayyyy to much for me, but wow, are those burgers yummy. It's hard to say which I like Better, In n Out, Five Guys, or Squeeze Inn.... In n Out definitely comes in 3rd... Anyways, if you live in the Sacramento and you're not vegan/vegetarian, like a LOT of my friends here at school, check out the squeeze inn, it's soooo good. Also, if you think about, wish me luck with my audition later this afternoon, Auditions always make me soooo nervous!!! See you soon!
