The Boringest Post Ever Posted In The History of Posts

Jan 30, 2012

Hello everyone! Happy monday to you! since my husband has the camera cord with him today, while I did take pictures of my current outfit, I have no way of loading them onto my computer how sad. AND how annoying that the words of this post are in this weird column. Sorry about that. I have a sneaking suspicion it has to do with this polyvore set.

ANYWAYS, I've been in a really sweet cutesy clothes mood lately, I just want to look like little french girl Madeline every single day! I dont know why. I'm just overcome by cuteness I guess. So here's what I would wear if I could just form clothes with the power of my mind!

Is Bigfoot Real? Can 27 People Be Wrong?

Jan 13, 2012

Hello Everyone! I realize that it's almost 9PM, but hey better late than never for a post, right?! I've really had quite the full day. Coffee, Friends, Shopping, Forcing people onto this blog, babysitting, wow. Really super great way to spend the last day of break, if I didn't have the option of spending every single second with my husband, which I didn't. AND since I didnt, I went to coffee with the ever wonderful Erin, who I always go to coffee with, at the ever delicious, Shady Coffee and Tea, where I always have coffee! I actually have significantly cut down my Starbucks drinking this break. I mainly made my own coffee, and I'm very happy about the money I saved doing so. Easily over 100 dollars. double wow.

Also: Last night I rented the Movie Joody Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. Nathan hated it. It's a movie for 12 year old girls! Of course he hated it! But... seeing past the very obvious silly facade of the kiddiness, I loved it. It was so sweet, and Heather Graham as the Crazy Aunt Opal was awesome. I really do like kid movies not like Spy Kids kid movies, but kid books turned into movies, like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. PLUS, it scores majorly with the kids that babysit. However, I asked Luca and Dario if they were into Joody Moody....evidently it's only for girls, and they have no interest in it.

Despite their lack of leaves, the Trees really add to the beauty of old roseville.
Erin and I are embracing an incresing internet trend that I've noticed hasn't really caught on here in Roseville...Yet. Trust me. My prediction is the next expensive "ugly" shoe trend will be these Dansko Proffessionals. I know they're not the most beautious shoes, but gosh, they are so comfy. And, for the record, I find them cute. Especially in black paten and leopard print! Ours are actually the knock-offs from Kohls, but they look identical, and there were literally 95% cheaper.
Dancin it up in our Danskos. Celebrating our comfort and our frugality. Go us.
Well everyone, thats about it for me. Tomorrow Nathan has a Tattoo appointment in Stockton, so you know what that means! Hooray! Family time! Seriously, nothing funner. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend everyone! See you soon.

Night Is Falling, The World Is Sleeping

Dec 17, 2011

Hello everyone! I hope your Saturday is going great thus far! Mine is! It’s been pretty low-key. Lots of catching up on the things that really got away from me during these last few weeks. As I mentioned is my last post, it was finals, so that means the weeks before papers and projects are due. So, school got crazy, and as a result, so did my house and my car.
Tonight is the Jessup Christmas concert. Last year the event was totally sold out, so hopefully this year there’s the same enthusiasm. Huge crowds are always fun when it comes to performing. Anyways, this is one the biggest thing the music department does, so it’s gonna be really fun.

Anyways, on Wednesday I did have a little break from finals so I decided to actually put something together. The coat really makes the outfit festive, which was intentional as I was babysitting that night and I brought the kids that I watch some special Christmas treats. I wanted to look like a bearer of Christmas merriment! I think I accomplished that… especially with the cupcakes and hot cocoa. It’s also important to me that those kids like me better than their other babysitters. Hahahaha! Just kidding!! Oh, I’m so kidding. The other girls that watch them are girls that I am good friends with from school
I think it's pretty evident by looking at my hair-don't that during finals week, even if you make an effort, sometimes you just still just look like a crazy person...

This little brooch is actually a little hair clip that my best friend growing-up made! She has a whole store on etsy full of really super cute stuff! Here are a few more examples of her really fun things! I’ve worn it in my hair before, and now that my hair actually starting to grow, I’ll be wearing this little guy way more!

Are these shoes not the funnest you have ever seen?! I know funnest isn’t a word, but it really communicates what I’m trying to say. When I was in the grocery store a man stopped me, and asked how many karats they were! He was old and funny, not like a creepy weirdo. I liked that guy.

That’s about it for me today everyone! I gotta start getting fancy for the Christmas concert tonight. Should be fun fun fun!! I’ll see you soon!

Guest Blogger: Candy from Taylor And Demolish

Dec 1, 2011

Hey everyone! So here's kind of a new concept for Parrish the Thought: A GUEST BLOGGER! Why did I never think to do this before?! ANYWAYS!

You have to meet this girl. She came to me via IFB message, and I was drawn to her instantly. Her city style is so great, and she is so bold and brave. Here's an introduction to her blog, I hope you love her, because, well... us Sacramento people could use a little New Yorker style in our lives! Plus the fact, that it's probably imperative that you click on her DIY posts. SO... without Further a do: Candy!!

I've always been awkward when it came to using words to describe myself, so I've always hoped that describing myself visually did a much better job.  My love for things edgy and soft comes from the fire I have in my heart for God and my desire to be more kindhearted like Him.  I'm the Christian who wears black lipstick.  I'm the accountant who rocks a mohawk.  I'm the runner and workout fiend who is obsessed with chocolate.  I appear to be a contorted bag of contradictions but what I really am...is just me.  I love rich (in color) and expensive (in quality) clothing but I love making things on my own, so my fashion blog, taylor & DEMOLISH, was created.  At taylor & DEMOLISH, I express everything I love about fashion, explain my personal style, and host all of my DIY projects.  I'm so grateful to God for every amazing opportunity I've received from my blog and it because of that alone that I make sure to always stay true to myself and my OWN personal style in everything I post.

Well everyone! be sure to go over to taylor & DEMOLISH and check out her blog.

Thats about it for me today. Life has been busier than ever, is this the same for you? I'm going nuts I feel like. Have a great rest of your week, the weekend is coming soon! Yes, Lord! See you soon

nothing is certain but death and taxes

Jul 26, 2011

Hi Everyone! Happy Tuesday to you all. I hope you’re week is going well thus far. Mine was good... until I had to re-do my taxes!! Do you know how confusing the 1040-X form is?! Good grief it is seriously the worst! I just found out that I have to completely re-do my taxes because of a discrepancy of $12... Good grief. It makes my brain just melt... not. fun.

Anyways! Now for happy news!!! Nathan and I went to Stockton because he had a tattoo appointment, so naturally my mom and I went to go run errands! There’s a great thrift store is Stockton called Superior thrift. I’ve mentioned it before. The Name suits this place perfectly. I never ever leave empty handed. I find my greatest stuff at Superior. And this trip with my mom was no different.

This is what I decided to wear today. Just a few of my finds from yesterday. I feel like the wide stripes and the shape of this dress are right on trend for the summer. I’ve got to find a way to style this so its suitable for the Fall. Same with all the midi-skirts that I’ve collected this summer. Anyways! This dress could not be a more simple outfit to style. The stripes are busy enough that you really don’t have to do much. Minimalism. I like that.

I just really love everything about this dress. It was one of those things that you see on the hanger and think "I wonder...". I love when that thought pops into my brain. It's my favorite part of the thrift store.
These clog sandals were such a steal!! I was so thrilled to see them in the shoe bin, I almost let out a little squeal! Only $6 for shoes I'll own for the rest of my life. Not a bad deal.

Well, that’s about it for me. I have to get to working on my financial aid.  It’s very frustrating. But when you go to a private Christian school, and you’re newly married, you pretty jump through any hoop to afford it! So… that’s gonna be my day, Boo. Well… I hope you all have a much more fun day me! See you soon!

Nathan is Tattooing His Sister

Mar 26, 2011

My husband is tattooing his sister, and my nephew and I are watching "Underdog". Not the best film, I have to admit, and I think Dyl would agree. So while I'm wating for him to finish up, I thought I'd go through Polyvore and look for the shoes on my most desired list. They're all platforms, because I don't really like real heels. I feel like a giant when I wear them. Some of these are even pretty affordable! It's too loud in the house to do ear training, so, this is what I have to do...shucks.
