Walking Adventures in Napa

Jun 28, 2014

Hello there folks! Hope this glorious weekend treating you well. I'm still in the honeymoon phase of living in Napa, AND I'm on summer vacation, so basically every single day is Saturday for me. I often lose track of the date.  ANWAYS! Nathan and I went on a glorious walking date around downtown, and let me just say; our date was not disappointing. This is what I wore on our little trip. I found this little Free People gem at Freestyle in Roseville, and I've been waiting for the perfect moment.

There's only trees for days everywhere you walk downtown, and it makes for the best walks. Nathan and I often walk to the Oxbow Public Market. Among the other beautiful shops and resaurants in the Oxbow, I
would have to that my favorite one is Three Twins Organic Ice Cream. These pics are from my walk yesterday with friends ho came to visit.

I am a person who gets a "usual." I only ever get the same thing over and over, and I get the Chocolate Peanut Buttercup. It is by far my very favorite, but I will say, I have yet to try a flavor that I didn't like. Oh Three Twins, you genius ice cream sibblings.

Nathan and I also walked into some Vintage shops, and I found some seriously wonderful treasures. This coat was one of my finds at Wildcats Vintage on Coombs.  This shop isnt that huge, but it is packed with tons of beautiful things.

We also walked into Napa Vintage Market, Alice's Antiques. It is so great. I coudln't get over this little camera that I seen afew days ago, and I had to go back for it. I'm pretty sure it still works, I just have to find some film for it. Just look at the color. I coudn't not get it.

Haven't really ventured out into the restaurants  yet. They are a little out of our budget, but you better believe this blog will be giving you the details on how to do Napa on a budget. There's so much you can do, and it is so fun. Anwyas, hope you loved thhis wayyyy-too-long post! See you soon!

Broadway is a tough, tough arena for singing

Mar 4, 2011

Oh World, hello again! I hope you guys are all doing great. I'm actually kind of having and off day. I dont know why, maybe lack of sleep, but mostly because of lack of motivation. I wish I knew why. I have no reason to be un-motivated. Is that even a word? I dont know.

The Title of my blog is a quote from Julie Andrews (my hero). We're doing broadway in the WJU choir for our big spring fundraise. I'm not a very good braodway singer, but I'm working on. If Julie Andrews (My hero) thinks its hard, then it's hard! But I LOVE musical theatre, so I'm really excited about it!!

BUT ENOUGHT ABOUT THAT STUFF!!! Onto more important things!! This is what I decided to wear today. I bought this poncho in December with my birthday money, and I never had anything to wear with it, or I never made the effort to really find anything. Anyways, It has buttons but I dont button it, I'd rather it fall kind of like a cardigan...plus fuller range of  motion, which is always good.

Poncho: Vintage from Etsy (I forgot which store), Sweater: thrifted, Undertank; Thrifted, Jeans: Gap from Freestyle, Shoe: UO, Headband: Anthro
I took pictures around 7:00 this morning, It was so beautiful and crisp, no weird neighbors out, it was so nice!
I'm really in love with the wide collar on this poncho it's so soft and cozy. It's like wearing a blanket that is socially acceptable in public. I can't believe I never wore it until now! The fringe isn't so bad either:)
I really am in love this little headband. I bought it when I was applying to work at Anthro. I wanted to look really interested. I think it worked because I was offered a position... unfortunately I turned it down for a job that was way lame.

Also, While at school my friend and co-music major pal, Nick Orton was was kind generous to let Alyssa and I to have come of the glory that was his fancy Peet's Coffee. I forget what kind it was, but it was strong, and delious.

Look at the beauty that is the french press. Oh, coffee snobs...

I just wanted a tiny little boost, so Nick poured mine into a cappuccino cup. It was so cute and little. So I documented it. It was a perfect tiny little cup of coffee. The cup had a little chip in it, and it reminds me of Chip from Beauty and the Beast.

Well people of blogworld, thats about it for me today. Take in this glorious weather, I'm gonna go visit my wonderful man of a husband, Nathan. at Freestyle. Get my drink (of chai) on, Get my shop on... Until tomorrow everyone!

Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week.

Feb 27, 2011

Oh Hello Everyone!! OMG, Look at that sky!! Seriously, couldn't ask for a more beautiful sunday morning!! Nathan and I are still in Stockton, so I took advantage of my mom's beautiful garden to take pictures. It's kind of muddy, but whatevs, when you have a garden as a resource, you're a lunatic not to take advantage! I think I would be a terrible candidate to live someplace legitimately cold. I love the sun way too much. Even if it is kinda chilly.

Coat: Vinatge, Top: Thrifted, Skirt: F21 from Freestyle, Tights: Spanx, Wedges: BCBGirls from Freestyle.
One of the buttons is missing from the coat, but it's in the pocket, I just have to get around to sewing it back on. It was such a steal. When I saw the price, it didn't even matter to me that spring is right around the corner. Besides, it's still pretty cold out. Easily under 50.

Me and Mandy at church. We're very American as you can see. Look how cute she is. The foyer at our church get really beautiful natural light.

I had my eye on these shoes for a while at freestyle. They're wedge platforms, so they feel more like a flat. Not great shoes to walk around the flea market, but they're perfect for church, or a show! We also went for pizza after church. There's a mission group going to Haiti, and they were doing a pizza lunch fundraiser thing at Straw Hat. Pizza.

Well everyone thats it for now. I hope your Sunday is warm and beautiful. I'll see you soon!!

No One Can Say That My Hair Hasn't Grown To Look Just Like Justin Beiber...

Feb 26, 2011

Hi there everyone!!
How's your weekend going? I hope it was as good as mine. As we always do, Nathan and I went home to visit family in Stockton. And he's actually currently visiting his parents. I stayed back to work on my FAFSA form, and I also filed our Federal Taxes, while that might not be the funnest thing ever, it sure is a weight lifted off my shoulders. Hopefully the FAFSA pays off...literally. Anyways, like I said in a previous post, my little brother is home from southern California, and so he and his super adorable girlfriend (to be featured soon), and Nathan and I went to the flea (market that is). I didn't take any outfit pictures today, my outfit was pretty boring, but here's a little photojournalism of our day:)

Good Lord!!! Who is this little boy?! Is it Justin Beiber? No, It's just me, Rachel Parrish, with undone hair. This is why I don't even wear my hair down. Talk about awkward grow-out period!! This is my "I told you so face".

This is what  must do to look nothing like Justin Beiber. This is also what I look like with not a single bit of make-up on.

Embarking on our journey to Stockton. What a beautiful man he is. I wub my wubby.

I will never learn. But look at monkey/claw hand! What the heck am I saying? Probably , "Hoh, shoot! I didn't do it right!"

Matt and Mandi looking a sweet old typewriter. Dont be fooled by the beautiful sky. It was only 45 degrees out, and windy...

We ran into Matt and Mandi's friends from school. Sam (the guy with the cosby sweater) might be one of the funniest people ever, and he also has a super friendly smile.

Good thing my eyes are closed!! anyways, I played xylophone on Nathan's new EP. When it comes out, you'll have to hear how I brought the metal.

Matt and Nathan talking about things I don't understand. I think I left shortly after to go to Target with my mom.
