I need more honey! More milk and honey!

Feb 20, 2012

Hi Everyone! Happy President’s day! Who’s your favorite President? Mine’s Abraham Lincoln. In fact, one of my favorite things at Disneyland is the Abraham Lincoln thing…I’m not joking, it makes me kind of teary. I love the freedom that we as American’s are privileged to have. I mean… look at the SOPA/PIPA thing, there were so many free Americans standing up against it, that a ton of lawmakers backed off! Yay freedom! Anyways, if I really got political this entry could take quite the turn, so we’re only gonna focus on freedom, and the fact that I have the day off from school.

Anyways, enough of that weirdness, this is what I decided to wear today. If you wondering to yourself, “what the, she looks kinda terrible.” hopefully it’s not because of my outfit, but because I have a cold, and it’s a doozie. I haven’t been sick at all this whole semester, which is nice, considering how busy I’ve been. Now that I have a little bit of time with nothing scheduled, of course I get sick. But hey, look at the bright side, I don’t have anything scheduled! I won’t have to cancel anything! There’s always a silver lining.

These are all freestyle finds of course. I know Valentine’s day is past, but you know, I think heart print should be encouraged all year long.

I’ve been sick since Friday, thusly, I’ve looked gross since Friday. But not today. I think there’s something that says on the internet somewhere that when you look good, you start to feel better. I’m going to decide to believe that, and tell you that I do actually feel a little better!

Well everyone, that’s all for me today! I hope you all enjoy your day off! I’m gonna make some food and continue to watch Parks and Recreation, and gain more inspiration from my hero, Leslie Knope.

Happy New Year!!

Jan 1, 2012

Wow! Seriously... 2012 already. Can't believe it's already here. But you know, I welcome it, I really do. As I mentioned in my last post, 2011 was kind of a tough year for us. I'm so looking forward to what the Lord is going to do in our lives this year. It seems so cliche to say things like that, but I'm being for reals. God really tested Nathan and I by moving us to the Sacramento area.  Nathan left Ev-er-y-thing so that I could go back to school. And While at first we thought the Lord was moving us just so I could finish up my degree, we couldn't have been more wrong... What a year it has been for finding out what we truly want to do with our lives. I'm still on the search, but to see Nathan totally come alive up here, it has made every challenge completely worth it, so to that I say, Happy New Year.
I don't have any new years resolution this year. I typically make ones that are really easy, like last year my resolution was to grow out my hair, and I did. Yay me. So, while I'd like to make a new years resolustion like, maybe resolve to actually be dilligent in washing my face before going to bed. I'm sorry to say that I really suck at that.

Whatever. This is what I decided to wear today. I love love love love this vest. It makes me feel like i'm about to go into the wilderness. It's so cozy on the inside, it's like an ugg boot on the inside. And since it's so warm on the inside, you don't even need sleeves! Hooray! Also, i'm a sucker for fur trim... How great is this gigantic collar? Ugh. love this.
there aren't many pictures today, as we drove down to stockton this morning and have been pretty go go go go go go ever since. In case you were wondering, these glasses are fake. I took a page from A Beautiful Mess' blog, and went out and got some readers because well... sometimes you just don't feel like wearing makeup, and you still want to look reletively put together. What a genius idea! I waiting for the right pair to come into my path, and these little nerdies came into freestyle not too long ago.
Anyways, I hope your new years eve parties were all a blast last night. Ours was. We just hung out with our dear friends and their precious babies, and once 12 hit, we ran outside and screamed our faces off, clinked our glasses, and went home. I'm a grandma, and I love going to bed early. So sue me! Anyways, happy new years people of the blogosphere. 2012 is gonna be a good one. I added a few things to the etsy shop. Be sure to check it out. I'm still cuilding my inventory, but I feel like the things that I have in store right now are totally great. Enjoy them! I'll see you soon

Night Is Falling, The World Is Sleeping

Dec 17, 2011

Hello everyone! I hope your Saturday is going great thus far! Mine is! It’s been pretty low-key. Lots of catching up on the things that really got away from me during these last few weeks. As I mentioned is my last post, it was finals, so that means the weeks before papers and projects are due. So, school got crazy, and as a result, so did my house and my car.
Tonight is the Jessup Christmas concert. Last year the event was totally sold out, so hopefully this year there’s the same enthusiasm. Huge crowds are always fun when it comes to performing. Anyways, this is one the biggest thing the music department does, so it’s gonna be really fun.

Anyways, on Wednesday I did have a little break from finals so I decided to actually put something together. The coat really makes the outfit festive, which was intentional as I was babysitting that night and I brought the kids that I watch some special Christmas treats. I wanted to look like a bearer of Christmas merriment! I think I accomplished that… especially with the cupcakes and hot cocoa. It’s also important to me that those kids like me better than their other babysitters. Hahahaha! Just kidding!! Oh, I’m so kidding. The other girls that watch them are girls that I am good friends with from school
I think it's pretty evident by looking at my hair-don't that during finals week, even if you make an effort, sometimes you just still just look like a crazy person...

This little brooch is actually a little hair clip that my best friend growing-up made! She has a whole store on etsy full of really super cute stuff! Here are a few more examples of her really fun things! I’ve worn it in my hair before, and now that my hair actually starting to grow, I’ll be wearing this little guy way more!

Are these shoes not the funnest you have ever seen?! I know funnest isn’t a word, but it really communicates what I’m trying to say. When I was in the grocery store a man stopped me, and asked how many karats they were! He was old and funny, not like a creepy weirdo. I liked that guy.

That’s about it for me today everyone! I gotta start getting fancy for the Christmas concert tonight. Should be fun fun fun!! I’ll see you soon!

Give Thanks To The Lord For He Is Good

Nov 23, 2011

What are you thankful for? It's a crazy thing to really think about the things that Lord blesses us with isn't it? I mean, there are times when I just get so stressed and anxious, that I forget how good I truly have it.

Let's make a list:
1. Happy Marriage (Thanks Lord!)
2. Making Music that makes money
3. Having a family that loves eachother
4. Having Sweet little pets to love
5. Having Friends that are more like Family
6. Living in a country that allows women to go to school
7. Living in a place that allows us to proclaim our faith (whatever it is!)
8. Having a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in
9. Having food to eat
10. A Savior that took ALL my burdens when I didn't deserve it.

Well everyone, that it for today! As you go to your families for thanksgiving, remember that every Good and Perfect Gift comes from Him.  God is so good to us. See you soon!

Jul 5, 2011

Hello everyone!! Holy shoot, is it hot today! For those of you who read from anywhere other than the central valley, this area gets notoriously hot during the summer, and it makes doing anything without air conditioning a real burden. Thankfully, Mine and Nathan's apartment is never in direct sunlight, so we're able to keep our place cool with minimal AC usage.

ANYWAYS!! How was your 4th of July? I hope it was as fun as mine. I just hung out with my family, but it was definitely one of the best 4th of July's I've ever had. I think I say that every year, because I definitely remember saying that about last years. I think 4th of July is so fun. Barbeque, Swimming, Family, and remembering how wonderful our Country is... Don't get me started. When I see parades honoring our soldiers, I get all teary. Their bravery on our behalf... man, pretty amazing (I try not to use that word too lightly). Thanks boys!

Well everyone here's a recap of my day yesterday. this is what I decided to wear for all of our festivities. I don't know why I didn't think to wear Red, White, and Blue, I'm above dressing patriotically... no siree. Anyways, I'm on a real pink and white kick these days. It's just so sweet and girly and lovely.... I dont know, I just cant get away from it.

I'm not prepared to commit to the high waisted shorts just yet, so I wore this lacey little number over it. My idea of commitment at this time is the tying it in a little knot on the side, that way if I feel a little bit too...whatever, I can just untie the knot!

One this that is always a little but new for me is, the real full on actual lipstick on a casual day! I usually wear nude lipgloss, but for the 4th of July I put on this pink lipstick. I liked it! I think I'll keep it for now:)

This little seahorse necklace is special to me for a very silly reason: its the first thing I ever bought at Freestyle ages ago when it first opened. Little did I know what a huge role it would be in my life!

Here's a few pics of our 4th of July Festivities with our nephews! We thought we might go down to Santa Cruz and spend the 4th there, but the traffic deterred us. So expect a Santa Cruz Post next week, when it's not so crazy!! We actually drove down to Stockton (like you're all shocked) to celebrate, and I'm so glad we did. It was so wonderful to just spend time with the ones we love:)

Well everyone thats about it for me today! I hope your 4th of July was super great, and that everyone was safe and sound! As for the rest of this week... I'm just gonna try and stay out of the heat!! See you soon!!
