Well actually, just your head is free

Jun 7, 2012

Hello Everyone!! I hope your week is going well. Mine’s going pretty good. It’s weird being officially out of school. I know it’ll be especially weird when the fall rolls around and my younger friends will be going back to school. I remember when I took a break to tour, when I was 21, my friends went back to school in the spring, it was really super strange. Anyways, my days have been filled with job boards and resume sending. I’ve had three scheduled interviews, one right as I got back from choir tour, one yesterday, and I have one next week.  The Interview next week is for part time work to keep me from going out of my mind with boredom, nothing serious.  I’m one of those people that just can’t stay still, I have to be doing something.

Anyways! This is what I decided to wear today. Super-duper casual. I’m really not much of a shorts person. I’m not the hugest fan of my legs. They’re really white, and they bruise really easy, so I look really gross in shorts, but with these Sacramento summers, sometimes there’s no other option. One of these days I’ll post my interview outfits and you can give me pointers.

I’ve been deciding to take my pictures inside more and more, people have been increasingly walking behind our apartment unit, I don’t know why. I’m not a fan of creepy strangers, so I just keep to myself. Also, I don’t really need people watching me taking pictures of my own self.

Aren’t these shoes great? I know they just look like any ol’ normal pair of loafers, but I’ve been looking for the perfect pair for… months and months, and now, I’ve found some! Hooray!
That’s about it for me today. I gotta get to the airport! Also, heres one more picture from Fish Fest of my husband bringing the metal. I had to add this. His hair is too much. Welp, have a great rest of your day everyone. I’ll see you soon!

I'm a bit of lunatic with shoes and jackets and jeans

Nov 11, 2011

Hi everyone! Happy Friday everyone! It's finally that day of the week that means no school tomorrow. I know you're thinking, "but didn't you ditch school yesterday?". The answer is yes, but there's a small sense (very small sense) of guilt associated with with ditching school. There's not one ounce of guilt on Saturday, it's just a free day. Well, not totally free, I have homework, but I can do it at starbucks, not at school, which I love!

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. I might be late to the party on this, but I've found my new favorite jeans, and they are the J.Crew Matchstick jean. They're not skin tight like a skinny jean (thought skin-tight jeans have their place in this world), but they aren't like an awkward boot cut, they're just perfect. I want another pair soon. AND they dont stretch and get weird by the end of the day. Perfection.

In case you even care, there are no christmas ornaments in that box. Only Nathan's paintings. I've been gettign afew comments on them as I begin to take pictures indoors. It's just too cold to go out without a big coat, He does sell his paintings, but beware, they are always paintings that make some sort of social point, they're not always just feel-good cutesy stuff. In fact, they almost never are. But thats something about Nathan I have always admired, his conviction to stand up for what's right. What a man.
Despite the fact that my face looks totally weird here, doesn't it kind of look like a crown of Dandilions around my head? How fun!

Here's the painting that crowing my head earlier. Isn't it neat? It was the first Christmas present Nathan ever gave. I think we had only been dating for about a month. It has a really sweet little letter written on the back of the canvas. Sometimes when I'm feeling blue, I take the painting off the wall and read it, then I feel better.
This was my valentines day present. It's a love pig! I know, it seems really strange a two-headed yellow pig, but let me explain. In Mexico, you can buy these little cerdito souvenirs. They're little piggy-banks that are painted with all sorts of beautiful colors. I have about... 1000 of them, I just love them. That's what this pictures is. Its a little bank, only it has two heads. The head with the mustache is Nathan, and I'm the one with rosy cheeks. It also has a cute little message. Gosh, I love my little paintings.
Well everyone, thats about it for me today. Since I didn't do anything school related yesterday, I should probably do some school related things today. Maybe not. Who knows. There are always so many fun things to do. Anyways, I hope you all have a great rest of your Friday, and an even better Saturday! See you soon!

The opportunity for doing mischief is found a hundred times a day

Aug 16, 2011

Hello Everyone!! Today is the day that I post my 100th entry!!! Crazy!! Now granted I haven't posted 100 different outfits, but I'm sure it comes close. The thought of 100 different outfits is pretty crazy. It makes me feel like a hoarder! Good thing I'm a major patron of Freestyle, and I'm not opposed to donating to the Salvation army! Things could get out of control.

Anyways, this starbucks that I'm sitting at while typing this blog has their music turned up so loud. I'm all for loud music, but seriously, when everyone at the store has to yell, thats just too much. I have to be honest with you about something right now, and this is the first time I'm doing this, but, I'm seriously here just for the internet! I'm on my way to Shady to have coffee with Erin so I don't wanna get too hyped up, so I'm not ordering anything here! What cheap-o I am. I guess I could type my blog at Shady, but I dont like typing while trying to chat with friends, I can't do them both, and usually it's the friend who suffers... it's bad manners.

Anyways, this is what I've decided to wear today. I wore this dress pretty recently, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. It's literally the comfiest thing I've ever worn. It'll definitely have to be put up during the winter, it'll be wayyy too cold for the winter, so I feel like I havet o get as much wear out of it as I can before it starts geting cold.

Recently I've ventured into the world of trendy lipsticks. My favorite trend right now is hot pink. You can't really tell in this pictures, but this lipstick is much more vivid in person. I thought it would make my teeth look really yellow, but turns out, it's not so bad.

Look at this little guy! He slipped under the fence and kept me company for a little while. I'm not cat person really, but thats because unfortunately, I'm very allergic, but I think I would like cats a lot more if I weren't. Look how cute this little buddy is!

nothing is certain but death and taxes

Jul 26, 2011

Hi Everyone! Happy Tuesday to you all. I hope you’re week is going well thus far. Mine was good... until I had to re-do my taxes!! Do you know how confusing the 1040-X form is?! Good grief it is seriously the worst! I just found out that I have to completely re-do my taxes because of a discrepancy of $12... Good grief. It makes my brain just melt... not. fun.

Anyways! Now for happy news!!! Nathan and I went to Stockton because he had a tattoo appointment, so naturally my mom and I went to go run errands! There’s a great thrift store is Stockton called Superior thrift. I’ve mentioned it before. The Name suits this place perfectly. I never ever leave empty handed. I find my greatest stuff at Superior. And this trip with my mom was no different.

This is what I decided to wear today. Just a few of my finds from yesterday. I feel like the wide stripes and the shape of this dress are right on trend for the summer. I’ve got to find a way to style this so its suitable for the Fall. Same with all the midi-skirts that I’ve collected this summer. Anyways! This dress could not be a more simple outfit to style. The stripes are busy enough that you really don’t have to do much. Minimalism. I like that.

I just really love everything about this dress. It was one of those things that you see on the hanger and think "I wonder...". I love when that thought pops into my brain. It's my favorite part of the thrift store.
These clog sandals were such a steal!! I was so thrilled to see them in the shoe bin, I almost let out a little squeal! Only $6 for shoes I'll own for the rest of my life. Not a bad deal.

Well, that’s about it for me. I have to get to working on my financial aid.  It’s very frustrating. But when you go to a private Christian school, and you’re newly married, you pretty jump through any hoop to afford it! So… that’s gonna be my day, Boo. Well… I hope you all have a much more fun day me! See you soon!

Pretend that you are holding a beautiful fragrant bouquet

Jun 17, 2011

Hi everyone!! I hope you're all having a great day! I definitely am. The weather is absuolutely perfect for a day at the farmer's market, which is exactly what I did. I took myself to the farmer's market in Roseville, and bought a ton of fruit for only $3.50! Okay, so I only bought enough for myself, because I'll eat it as a snack, while my husband won't. But seriously, mangoes, peaches, and apricots all for 3.50. Go me.

Anyways, my brother's going to be in town for the next week, which I am really excited about. Chris lives in San Diego (sooo jealous), so we don't see him nearly as often as we see my other brother, Matt. Even though San Diego is technically only 2 hours away from L.A (where my other brother lives), the drive usually much longer than that, making it really un-fun to drive.

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. This is my strolling-around-Denio's-market outfit. It's very appropriate for the ocassion I feel. I really love the sleeves of this top, they are so frilly and flowy. AND I love the stripes of the top and the floral shorts together. I am a sucker for mixed prints. I really am.
I have a confession to make about these shorts, and I'm kind of sorry to admit it,  but... they are BRAND NEW!!! School Year's Resolution is over everyone, so I'm not breaking any rules! But to console everyone, Express was having a massive sale, and these shorts were super cheap. AND if you remember me saying, I'm in desperate need of shorts as I only have one pair.

My new years resolution however is really coming together. My hair is getting long enough so that I don't have to pin all my hair up when I put it in a pony tail! I only have a hair tie in! yay!
You know these have to be shorts, because I would never wear a skirt that short. Not because there's anything wrong with wearing shorts skirts, but because they are so impractical! There's absolutely no running after children at the playground in mini-skirts, but with these, I could run all day!

I don't know if I've ever mentioned how much my husband loves loves loves comic books and superheros, mostly Marvel comics, but last night he got his new Wolverine toy in the mail. These pictures were not staged my friends. This is my manly man of a husband playing with his action figures. There was also a good dose of hardcore music in the background.

Okay, so maybe that last photo is staged...
Well everyone thats about it for me today. My parents are coming up this afternoon, and we're gonna go have Thai Food after Nathan gets off of work! I'm so excited! It's gonna be so fun! ALSO it's FRIDAY!!!! so you know what that means! The Weekend, and my new favorite show, My Big Fat Gyspy Wedding. Hooray! I hope you all have a great weekend, I know I will. See you soon!
