Valentine's Day Feature!! Two Happy Hearts!!

Feb 13, 2012

Hello Everyone! It's never too late for a post, am I right? If you're wondering, I am right. I am really super excietd about this post. I know sometimes are anti-Valentine's day, but let me tell you something right now: I am not. I am pro valentines day for two reasons. 1) It's fun to designate a day for pouring your love on people more that normal. 2) Pink and Red are the colors your face turns when you blush when you fall in love, and if you wanna look like you're in love, wear pink and red. No better time than Valentine's day!

Anyways! Tonights post is one that I am wayyyy too excited to share. This lovely lady is a blogging friend of mine that I asked to do a Valentine feature and when she graciously agreed, I was ecstatic. This is Christen from Two Happy Hearts! Enjoy!!

Hello there Parrish the Thought readers! My name is Christen and I run my blog, Two Happy Hearts. I love posting fun, vintage-inspired, girly outfits. I also do occasional hair tutorials, DIY crafts, and recipes.
I am so excited and honored to be featured on Rachel's lovely blog! She is quite the adorable gal, as I'm sure you all know by now ;)
Today I'm sharing a sweet & simple Valentine's Day date night outfit. This is one of my favorite dresses I picked up from H&M last fall. It's perfect and so, so, so pretty! I hope you enjoy.

Isn't she way too cute and way to sweet?! This alone should be your reason not to hate Valentine's day if you do. This is one of the blogs I frequent probably every day, and that is not a joke. Go over there! Follow Follow Follow!! Thats about it for me today! I gotta get back to paying attention to my night class. What a wonderful diversion, wouldn't you agree? See you soon!

The rest is painted with a little science fiction

Feb 9, 2012

Hi Everyone!! It's been a few days since I've posted anything, and since I know you've be desperately waiting at your computers for an update, I will now indulge you. wow. Anyways, sometimes you just need a break right? After recording, and trying to keep up with my blog during that whole crazy process, I just needed  a week to get my brain around school, and starting my internship. You know, pay attention to things that I've invested thousands of dollars in, and gone into major debt over.

ANYWAYS! On to funner matters! This is what I've decided to wear today! I'd seen Coury over at Fancy Treehouse wearing red over the knee socks, and was instantly inspired. That actually happens often at her blog (I've kind of adopted a WWCW what would coury wear mindset). But since I hate what my legs looks like in over the knee socks, I decided to go for the full-on red tights. Red tights are bold, and i know that, but I actually can't get enough of them! I'm no scouring my closet for what else I can wear with them. I tried them with over the knee boots... a little bit too "Mrs Incredible" for me...
There was once a day when I was a full-time musician, and I wore this little dress on TV! I've had it for 6 years now. It is offically the oldest item in my closet, and I cannot sell it. It's also my most faovritist dress ever. I got it from FINA, a fancy schmancy boutique in Stockton. Thats where you go if you're gonna be on TV. It was the only way I could Justify buying something from a Boutique.

I tried to ombre my hair over the weekend... and I didn't think you could even tell... until I look at this picture right in this moment.

Thought you might want an update on the doggies! Chico (front doggy for new readers) just got fixed...he's totally fine. I was afraid it might change his funny personality, which would break my heart into a majillion peices... but turns out, he was good as new!
That's about it for me today! Dont forget the Valentine's day sale going on over at my Companion Shop at Etsy. Just click on the collage and it'll take you over!  See you soon!!

Crazy Cat Lady

Jan 31, 2012

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day! This week is gonna get so crazy. The Music Department at William Jessup University records a CD every year, and this is the week are doing it. It’s a really super tedious process, but the end result is so worth it, and the group really comes together like a little family. So even though it’s not exactly the funnest process in the world, I look forward to it. Weird right?

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear yesterday. This sweater was a thrifted find from Saturday. My mom found it, and It looked kinda crazy on the rack, but once I actually tried it one, I was sold. I guess it still looks kinda crazy, but I think it’s awesome! The collar is what really grabbed attention. I think I’ll be finding multiple things to wear with this little guy.

Not too sure why I look so scared here... What a weirdo.
Yesterday somehow went from sunny and kind of warm to cloudy and gloomy, so the cloudy fans I’m sure rejoiced, but for sunshine addicts like myself, I think it just left us confused. I ended up having to change by the end of the day.

Well everyone, that’s about it for me today. Recording or no recording there’s always tons to do! I’ll see you soon!

They Said Not To Drink The Sprinkler Water

Jan 12, 2012

Good Morning everyone! Happy Thursday! You know those days when you don't have much to say? Thats me today. Not a lot to do today, so I'm just gonna talk about my outfit!

This is what I decided to wear today. isn't this 70's dress so fun? I bought it to wear to play a show with my Husband. It really has a great folksy vibe, how could I pass it up? Since it's really got a lot going on by itself, it really doesn't need much styling, and especially since it's a really beautiful day, I don't need a coat or anything.
The colors of this dress happen to all be my very favorite colors, separately and in combination with eachother. Purple, Blue and Teal. What more could I ask for? Nothing, I guess!!

My hair growing out goal is really coming along nicely! Now I can even curl into Farrah waves! Hooray!!

Another edition of:Shoes my Husband puts on Hold for me!
Well everyone. Thats about it for me today. Tomorrow will be a fun last day of freedom as I'm having coffee with Erin, and then hanging out with one of the ladies from youth group. she'll be featured for sure, she's absolutely gorgeous. Anyways, enjoy the rest of your day folks! See you soon!!

Guest Blogger: Candy from Taylor And Demolish

Dec 1, 2011

Hey everyone! So here's kind of a new concept for Parrish the Thought: A GUEST BLOGGER! Why did I never think to do this before?! ANYWAYS!

You have to meet this girl. She came to me via IFB message, and I was drawn to her instantly. Her city style is so great, and she is so bold and brave. Here's an introduction to her blog, I hope you love her, because, well... us Sacramento people could use a little New Yorker style in our lives! Plus the fact, that it's probably imperative that you click on her DIY posts. SO... without Further a do: Candy!!

I've always been awkward when it came to using words to describe myself, so I've always hoped that describing myself visually did a much better job.  My love for things edgy and soft comes from the fire I have in my heart for God and my desire to be more kindhearted like Him.  I'm the Christian who wears black lipstick.  I'm the accountant who rocks a mohawk.  I'm the runner and workout fiend who is obsessed with chocolate.  I appear to be a contorted bag of contradictions but what I really am...is just me.  I love rich (in color) and expensive (in quality) clothing but I love making things on my own, so my fashion blog, taylor & DEMOLISH, was created.  At taylor & DEMOLISH, I express everything I love about fashion, explain my personal style, and host all of my DIY projects.  I'm so grateful to God for every amazing opportunity I've received from my blog and it because of that alone that I make sure to always stay true to myself and my OWN personal style in everything I post.

Well everyone! be sure to go over to taylor & DEMOLISH and check out her blog.

Thats about it for me today. Life has been busier than ever, is this the same for you? I'm going nuts I feel like. Have a great rest of your week, the weekend is coming soon! Yes, Lord! See you soon

It's Time For Some Blog Featuring Fun Times: SACRAMENTO BLOGGERS!!!

Jun 18, 2011

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day, as it is not even 12 yet. My family is in Yosemite today, and I am here in Stockton. You might think that I am dismayed by this, but I am not, as I will be taking a day trip of my own coming up very shortly. Nathan was thinking Berkeley, but I gotta admit, I'm hoping for Santa Cruz. Will I argue about either one? No way! Both are totally great. But I reeeeeaaaallllly am craving an hour or two of laying on the beach, and a bread bowl with clam chowder. And maybe a vintage shop or two (hundred). What a hard life, right?
ANYWAYS!!! I spend a lot of time not only on my own blog thinking of outfits, and thinking of witty titles. However, I spend just as much time looking for and fawning over other people's blogs (where do you think all my inspiration comes from?). There are soooo many beautiful blogs out there, and some of them are actually right here in the Sacramento Area!! I've never read on Yahoo news about Sacramento being a fashion epicentre, but let me tell/show you that with these lovely ladies, we Sacramento women on our way. We are on, our, way. So let me show you 5 of the top Sacramento Blogs that I've found:)

First of 5: Let it Reign
Skylar Mundy is probably one the cutest people I've seen this internet machine. She often writes on the Jupiper James blog, but her own personal blog is pretty great.

Second: Liz Franco's blog, Srslyliz. This is a blog that I frequent often. Her look is so wearable, and approachable while being really cool and vintage-y, not to mention that she's super beautiful.

This Third I've decided to featurs actually belongs to my WJU alumni buddy, Elizabeth Matchel. Her blog, Yelizabeta, is so beautiful. It's got fashion, but also real-life stuff about all the fun adventures she and her husband go on. Her blog is a super great read, and her vintage store on etsy is super great also.

This next blog is living proof that once you have kids, your life only gets cuter! Ha. Olga from Whitecrow really lets you into her family's life with all of her super cute pictures, and not to mention her super great style. She even has an etsy store so you can look as cute as her.

And Lastly, but definitely not least. If you have tumblr and your not following Lydia's blog Morus Albus you are seriously missing out. This lovely little woman is one of my favorite employees (who am I kidding, every girl at Freestyle is my most favorite. I would consider them all real-life actual friends) at my most favorite-ist store of all time. Her look is so fun, and is even cuter in real life. All the girls at Freestyle should have their own blogs, they are all so fashionable. And seriously, I've never seen a more beautiful head of hair.

SO!!! All you wonderful blog readers, if you haven't already made your way towards these great blogs, you now have no excuse as all of these have links, making it super duper easy for you to find and follow. I hope you're as inspired by these fantastic Sacramento women as I am!!

Thats about it today for me. Maybe an outfit post later, but don't bank on it. I left my Tripod back up at our apartment. Shucks, so today was a great day for a blog feature. Anways, enjoy this beautiful weekend!! I'll see you soon!
