Saturday's and Succulents

Feb 7, 2015

It's a no makeup kind of Saturday. Nathan's away recording vocals for the kingdom album that's coming out this spring, so I'm just kinda hanging out at the house. We only have one car on the weekends, typically, so it's a good oppertunity for Bible reading, music playing, Friends DVD watching, and chore doing... The first three were already checked off the list, so the chores are all that are left. Oh yeah, I can check off one of my New Years resolutions... I chopped off my hair.

Worm Farm

Hello Everyone! IT’s now Saturday, and it becoming frighteningly close to the end of spring break. I guess I shouldn’t get too tweaked considering Summer is coming up in 36 days. The real scare is graduation! Like I said I’m on the job hunt. I’ve put my resume into a few places and have made a few phone calls, but I’m still gonna apply to everything I can get my hands on. Being a music major, I’m trying to find jobs in the field, which are more than I thought, so that’s kind of cool.

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. I love the little bow at the neckline! For the past few weeks our weather has been less than stellar, (which I guess is to be expected considering 70 degree weather in the winter is totally abnormal) but since It’s warm, I’m gonna take advantage! I’ve had a few safety scares at our apartment these past few weeks, so I’ve decided to just take pictures on my back patio, which is sadly the least picturesque place in all time and history.

Our patio was totally and completely covered in leaves before took pictures. So I thought I woudl just casually sweep them away. Not thinking this completely through, it didn't occur to me that it was an entire winter's worth of wet soggy leaves... When I got down to the bottom of the leaf pile, it was a like a WORM FARM!! There were worms everywhere! GROSS. I'm not a bug person, so sorry all you green thumbs out there who are offended by my hatred for worms. But as you can see, I powered through, and eventually swept the whole patio.
Today, I thought I would take the sock bun for a test run (learned all my rhyming skills from Dr. Seuss). My layers are a little crazy from growing out, but for the most part it totally worked! I did have to put in a few bobby pins, but hey! Better than back-combing the living day-lights out of my hair and breaking all the ends! We’ll see tonight what the end result is with the curls.  My hair kinks super easy when you put a hair band in it, so I’m thinking it won’t be that cute.
I got these sunglasses when Nathan was in desperate need and we found a buy one get one free kiosk at Long Beach!
Well everyone, that’s about it for me today! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday afternoon! We’re gonna go to our church’s Easter service tonight so that we can go home early tomorrow and spend Easter with our families a little bit longer. I love love love Easter. It’s literally the whole reason I believe anything I do, and have any hope for anything. Easter is the best! Jesus is the best! See you soon!

I came home every Friday afternoon

Hello Everyone!! As you all know, it has been a while since I posted anything, life has been turned upside down these past few days.  It sure is strange now to think that life will never be the same ever again, however, we are definitely comforted by the fact that Bill is in heaven.

Today life is starting to return to normal. I went to go run errands with my mom, and you know what that means. Nathan's best friend is in town from Washington, so its been really fun seeing him and catching up. We all went to go see Tranformers: Dark of the Moon (the title sounds like a texting typo to me, I feel like it shoudl say "Dark side of the Moon"), and that was pretty good actually, I didn't hate the girlfriend, like I thought she was, when I heard she was Victoria's Secret model without any prior acting experience, I have to admit, I immediately thought she would just walk around in her undies, but I was wrong. In fact, I prefer her over Megan Fox. Thus far my favorite movie of the summer is... going to be Harry Potter. ha. no really, I think Kung Fu Panda has been my favorite so far.

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. This is my new favorite skirt. The color is my latest obsession. Its so summery and flowy, and it's linen, so it's very cool.
I took my pictures in my Parent's backyard. There are so many different aspects of this yard. It's just such a beautiful place. It really is like a little haven amidst a very depressed town.

I couldn't help but take a few pictures of some of the plants and flowers in the yard. I just love these Succulents and Hydrangeas

And I feel like my little buddies have been somewhat neglected on this blog as of late. Here's Oscar and Chico, trying to beat the heat! I love my little doggies.
Well everyone thats it for me today. We have felt and appreciated your prayers for sure, things are still difficult, but like I said, we are making steps toward a new kind of normalcy. I hope your guy's weekend is lovely, and have so much fun celebrating America on the 4th or July!!

A bank robber's not gonna know what a hydrangea bush is

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was great, mine was for sure. I hope you all honored your dad’s appropriately!! Ha. I got my dad some barista stuff from Starbucks, because you know, he’s a barista, and now when I come over, he can make me all sorts of yummy drinks!! HaHa, But seriously, I my dad is a great barista at home, and I was happy to help him add to his collection of delectable delights. My dad is seriously the best. Nathan and I saw the movie, The Green Lantern (another super-hero movie, of course), and it was alright, I liked Super 8 better. There were no ingeniously creative children saving the day in this movie… I mean Ryan Reynolds is cute enough, but he’s no Wubby.

Anyways! This is what I decided to wear today. I’ve had this awesome vintage halter dress for two years, and I have no plans of ever getting rid of it. I’ve mentioned before my love for prints, and the print of this dress is no exception. The white hydrangeas are just too much. I had white and green hydrangea’s in my wedding bouquet, they’re my favorite-ist flowers.

This is my mother-in-law’s gorgeous home. Everything about it is something I love. It was built in the 1920’s and has had quite a bit of renovation, so the house is literally a rock. I honestly think that if an earthquake hit, the houses on this street would be totally safe.

It’s pretty evident by these pictures that Nathan’s mom, Debbie, loves this home. She is the one responsible for it’s beauty. Not to mention Nathan’s dad’s impeccable gardening skills. I would sit on this back porch all day with a glass of lemonade if I could. They only bummer is, where there are beautiful flowers, there are tons of bees!! While I was out here I had to really be careful, especially with a floral dress on! Good grief!

Well you guys, that’s about it for me today. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and I hope that the rest of your week is just as wonderful! I’m gonna get back to watching Hoarders…See you soonJ

Denim on Denim Time

Apr 30, 2011

Hello Everyone!! I hope you ar all enjoying your Saturday! I certainly am. Nathan took me on a breakfast date! Yay! Being a full time student, those are rare, so I especially loved it! We went to the delta flea market and walked around, we didn't buy anything, but it is definitely fun to look at all the weird stuff. There's a lady that is there every weekend with her dutch bakery treats, they always look so good, but I didn't get any this time. I thought I would hold back for the first time in my life. Then on our way home, Nathan suprised me by taking me to Noah's bagels!!! I love Noahs. We don't have one where we live now, nor do we have a lincoln center where we live, so i was very happy to be there. AND to top it off, we ran into my Uncle Richard! It's always nice to run into family.

Anyways! this is what i decided to wear to day. It's been super duper windy here in the valley, so dresses and skirts are just a bother. If i had long hair, it would be up in a bun. This wind is so crazy, it comes every year, and I never get used to it. This look is kind of tom-boyish, but you can see clearly, that i am not a boy. I really like the denim on denim trend, as long as the denims are different washes. this outfit would be really weird if it was all light denim!! not to mention unflattering.

I decided to take pictures in my parent's backyard,. My dad had just mowed the lawn, so the yard looked extra pretty. Everything is green and blooming right now, how could I not take advantage?

OH EM GEE... look at my mom's roses. Just feast your eyes on these colors! They're just so pretty, it drives me crazy!
If I could only learn to love a beast. Isn't this the perfect beauty and the beast rose?
Chico of course loves to come and help out with the picture. I love my little buddy!
How the heck did I forget to mention that I went to the Lincoln High School rummage sale?! There really wasn't much there by the time I got there, but there were a pair of shoes that were clearly waiting for me. I found this beautiful little Bruno Magli's for $5! I couldn't believe it. They are so comfy too!
oh yes, can't forget our shoot supervisor, Chico. This little guys has such a serious face! It's so funny, becuase he's such a funny little guy!
Anyways, Spongebob is on, and since Nathan and I have opted out of having cable or internet in our appartment, I gotta soak in all the Spongebob I can! So I hope you don't get blown away in ths crazy wind, and that you enjoy this beautiful day!! See you soon!
