Adventures in Baby Sitting

Feb 23, 2012

Hi Everyone! Are you so ready for the weekend? I am. This week should have been a breeze with Monday off, but I'm actually quite stressed. I have officially joined the thousands of soon to be college graduates in the hunt for a job. I feel like the Lord told me to go back to school because my destiny wasn't retail work, and every retail job that I have taken since I've started school has fallen through. I was hired at Freestyle, and then un-hired due to my music department schedule. So despite my greatest efforts in retail employment, the message is clear after three failed attempts here in the Sacramento area: no Urban Outfitters, no Kohls, no Freestyle. All great stores, but not for me. The really actual resume sending, interview praying, has begun. So if you're in the Sacramento area, and you have a job for this soon to be college grad, you know what to do!

anyways! I think I've told you quite a few times before that my current "part-time" job is watching the funnest three children in the whole wide world. I thought instead of showing you my outfit of the day, I'd share one of the best parts of my time here at William Jessup University.

Have you ever seen a prettier princess? This is us practicing how to say "You're Majesty."
Gotta study up on how to be a princess of course!
Oh hey, brother! That shirt says "Hello, My name is Trouble." enough said.
The whole gang. This was taken after the making of our Big Time Rush music video. These are three of the most precious kids I've ever known.

That's about it for me today, and...Well everyone there's a tiny glimpse into the life of student/wife/blogger/musician (not in that order, wife is first always). I actually am not constantly thinking of fashion, and spending all my hours reading other blogs. I hope you enjoyed a glance into my life from a different angle! And for those of you who are wondering, I am all better from my cold. The secret is Ultra Zicam, %100 Organic Cranberry Only Juice, and Sleep. See you soon!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Friday!! Hope your weeks has been good, mine's been pretty uneventful really. Just nanny-ing it up and hanging out with friends, you know, watching the Bachelorette!! I hate the show as much as I love it. I'm too far in now, I have to see how it goes down. Just to honest, I know how much everyone lovs, JP... but didn't he kind of come off as a psycho last week? I like Ames... but I know he has no chance.
Anyways!!  The weather has been so mild! I'm talking 70 degrees in July!! In the Valley? Thats just unheard of! It makes it picking out an outfit really easy. When it gets super hot all you wanna wear is a swimsuit, but when it's nice like this, you can wear whatever you want! It's so nice!

So This is what I decided to wear today. It pretty boring I guess. However, I really do enjoy the colors and the shapes of this outfit. There's no print! I know, I dont really know how to deal with solids... This top is really cropped, and when you're tall and have a long torso, cropped tops are super cropped, and since I'm really not emotionally prepared to do the whole bare midriff trend, I decided to wear my high waisted shorts. I think the shapes and pastels go well together.

ALSO!! I'm dog sitting! This little baby is my friend's dog, Prissy! Isn't she so precious! Sh'e seriously the best behaved dog. They were going to Santa Cruz for a few days, so I offered my expert dog sitting services because I don't watch the kids on Thursdays and Fridays. So me and Prissy have basically become best friends.

She has to wear her little hair in a pony because her bangs are so long! She can't see without it!
Here are a few more pics from the week for you to enjoy :)
Well, thats about for me today!! Hope the rest of your friday goes great and that you fully enjoy the weekend ahead! See you soon!

I Want To Reward You With 5 Minutes of Uninterrupted Eye Contact

Jul 7, 2011

Hi everyone!! I hope your guys are having a great week thus far. My week has been unusually slow as I haven’t had to work this week, but you know me, I always find something to do. There are tons of thrift stores in this world for me to scour! However, I will say this, my search for a thrift store better than the ones in Stockton remains unfruitful! So thrift stores of Sacramento… its time to step your game up. Also… very few people are as fun to thrift shop with as my mom… and since she lives in Stockton, it’s kind of an unfair fight… so for that, I apologize.

Anyways, This is what I decided to wear today. It actually wasn’t my first outfit, but the dress I had looked like an acceptable length for going out in public, but then when I was putting the dishes away, I gave Nathan quite the show! So, this is what I changed into. This is one of my most recent Freestyle finds. I consider it to be a gem of a purchase. As my love for vintage dresses never runs dry. I’ve been magnetized to Hawaiian dresses these days, and while this dress doesn’t have the typical hibiscus print, the tag does indeed say, “Malia from Honolulu.” Weird huh?

The wrap around style is a little bit different than other ones that I have seen, which makes it a little more special I think. I also like that the straps are really wide so that I can wear normal bra, not a strapless one… I hate wearing strapless bras, even ones that fit are super annoying to me.

Ugh! aren't the details and print of this dress something else?! The Construction is seriously second to none, especially for a vintage dress. I feel like this dress could be junked around and pulled and tugged, and not a single seam would budge.

In other news, I’ve been on the hunt for one of those popsicle ice trays where you pour your juice in and stick in the freezer, and in a few hours you have delicious popsicles, and I finally found one!! I found it at the Dollar Tree!! How cute is this? They’re shaped like little closed umbrellas! I love them. I filled them up with Lemonade (my other summer obsession. Nothing cools you off in the summer quite like nice cold glass of Lemonade), and voila! Delicious popsicles!
look how exciting it is!!! Also, please take a gander at our crazily covered refrigerator. One day I'll do a post guiding you through mine and Nathan's life based soley on what it on our refrigerator.

Well everyone that’s about it for me today. Tomorrow’s Friday, so even though this whole week has been pretty much a week off, Weekends always seem so much more fun… I don’t know, with that said, yay for Fridays! See you soon!

Beware of the man who rises to power from one suspender

Jun 8, 2011

Hi Everyone! These past few days have kind of been a whirlwind since I started my summer nanny job. It’s kind of weird getting dressed for the first three days of the week, because I have to wear things that are kid friendly (meaning, I have to be able to walk to the park, or the pool at any given moment).
The little guys that I am watching are super easy to watch. They play outside with the other neighbor kids all day, and I just make sure they’re safe. The other moms on the street are super nice for the most part, and the icing on the cake… my best friend is nannying four houses down so I get to see her a lot, which is fun. It’s finally starting to warm up, so we’re all going to the pool. It should be really fun.

This is what I decided to wear today. Aren’t these suspender jeans so fun?! They really bring out my womanliness… I found them at Crossroads in Stockton, they were hanging on the wall, and I had to have them. $9 for these Grey Ant suspender jeans!! Wow

This outfit is pretty self explanatory, so I didn’t take too many pictures. Besides the fact that I don’t have the same amount of time as I normally do to blog it up.
That’s about it for me today. I hope you are able to take advantage of this beautiful weather. I’m gonna try and get some color for sure… not super tan, because we all know that would never happen. See you guys soon.
