Walking Dates in Napa

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a great week. Mine was so very busy! I couldn't even take one second to even to jot down a single thought. Life gets crazy for me in this part of the school year. I have two huge field trips that takes a ton of energy organize and prepare for, and three other classes to maintain. It's a lot. Not to mention Spring break is five weeks away. I'm not counting or anything!

This past Saturday we walked downtown to Model Bakery in the Oxbow District for breakfast. This place makes the best breakfast Sandwiches! I get the chipotle breakfast sandwich, and a mocha every time. Sometimes you have to wait in a long line that goes out the door, but it is so worth it. Also, it's just really nice to be able to walk from our house to Model and chat with Nathan about life, and Jesus, and music. He tends to be the best for that :)

We talked about how, Right now the Lord is really showing me the true desires of my heart, which I have been praying that He would do for a while. It's started with the fast, and it is slowly but surely being more and more confirmed as I proceed through the school year. My real desire and passion is ministry and music, and I am praying about the most effective way to do that VCS, and how to make sure the students are being ministered to in the way that they need. I know what the Lord is saying for me to do, but it's about me trusting him and taking that next step. I know he will take care of it. If there is one thing I've learned over these past few years, is that, if it's what God wants, He makes it happen. So I'm trusting Him. Then our conversation moved on to really deep stuff... like which Marvel action figures Nate needs to finish his collection.

That last day does not bring extinction to us

Hello everyone!! Happy Thursday to you. I'm now back in Northern California somehow coping with the fact that I'm not in Disneyland, or Long Beach, or San Diego. What a full and wonderful trip with my super great family! Seriously, couldn't have asked for a more fun vacation. We wandered all over Southern California and laughed, and ate, and back-seat drove (okay, maybe just I did that), and played, and shopped the whole time! It was seriously so great. But every vacation has to end sometime, and you don't want it to last too long, because then you start to hate vacation! sad! Well, here are my last few pictures of my vacation. This is San Diego at the Cabrillo National Monument. Could you imagine a more beautiful day? Nope, me neither.

 HAHAHA! My dress blew-up like a cupcake. Whoopsie! But look at that sweet boat! You could see the NAVY base from the monument. It was really neat! Thanks boys, (and girls!) for your service!

 OKAY... This might have been second to Disneyland on this whole trip. We went down to go check-out the tide pools! Have you ever see one? They are amazing! There are sea-creatures in the crevices of the rocks! It was so great! The animals are all very small and shy (duh, they're wild, not in an aquarium), but they are so wonderful and cool! We saw a really beautiful little purple and green crab, but every time I tried to take a picture, it would go back into his little cave.

Oh beautiful San Diego. I was sad to say goodbye to by Brothers and Mandi, and my extended family who live down there, but it gives me an excuse to go down there and visit. It was so super wonderful. Here are a few extra pics from the whole of our trip :)

A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in

Oh, good morning everyone! It feels so perfectly aligned that I be sitting in a busy starbucks with my delicious Salted Caramel Mocha working away at my blog. I like to think that the Lord provides us with these little retreats from normal life. In fact as I sit here right now thinking about what my day is going to hold, I can't help but be so happy. I'm here at Starbucks blogging (which is my favoritist thing to do), my husband is at band practice rocking, which is his favorite thing to do, and then later today, we'll be heading to our hometown and I'm gonna "run errands" with my mom, and we'll see our nephews, and we'll play with the doggies, it's just gonna be great.

Anyways this is what I decided to wear today. I've brought the peach skirt back out. It's still pretty warm up in the Valley, so it just feels strange to wear tights or sweaters, though I am growing increasingly impatient. I love boots, and it's just too hot to wear them yet. But trust me, I've already begun nice little collection...

This tie-neck blouse is one of my favorites. It's very versatile. Since it's sleeveless it's cool enough for warmer days, and since it's also silk it's warm enough to wear with a cardigan under a coat in cooler weather. Not to mention the tie-neck is awesome.

You can barely see him in this background, but little dark-grey blob that looks like he's walking away is my new little buddy, his name is Tig, but we really just call him "Little Kitty". We adopted him, and he is our new little baby. Cats are much easier apartment pets than dogs... sad, but true.

 

there he is. He's helping me. Plus, look at my hair, while it's not super long, it's log enough to make a sad little bud, and as sad as it may look, it makes me very happy. Grow short hair, grow!

 Oh. Gosh. Let me tell you about this little beauties of a platform wedge: I found this Kork-Ease little glories at Freestyle (duh), and they were half off of $35! Do you know what that means?! I got $195 shoes for $17.50. What a victory. They are impeccably made, and they are my new faves.

Blinded By The Light

Hi everyone! We're talking about "hope" in my theology class this morning. I think the Lord is realizing how prone to "post vacation depressiong syndrome" ( I made this mental dissorder up myself), I am, so he made sure that all of my classes start back in a positive way. Just kidding, I'm sure that's not the reason why, but I'm super happy to talk about hope in Christ in class. I think the reason classes might seem bearable after the break, is because...I had a break, now I'm refreshed and ready to go! Finals are in two weeks, we'll see how I feel then.

Anyways, I know this is a fashion/ personal style blog, so lets get to it shall we?

This is what I decided to wear today. SHORTS! NO TIGHTS! I know, I'm not tan. I will never ever be tan. I'm not meant to be a golden goddess... I've been a burner ever since I was a little girl. I tried so hard in high school to get tan, but it was always pointless. Anyways, so here I am with my shorts and super white legs. Thus the title of this blog. ha. At first glance this outfit looks pretty basic, but its actually quite busy. Floral shorts, Striped undertank, Lacey top, denim shirt, there's lot's going on! Also, I love this hat, I feel like Maria VonTrap would wear this. Oh Julie Andrews...my hero.

Today was a light make-up day. Heavy make-up doesn't really match this outfit, so I took it easy, also, I woke up at 5am to do homework before I had to be at school at 8, so I really didn't feel like putting on a full face. Just enough to make me look awake.

 I love the mix of tiny floral and the lace, there's just something really girly about it.

Speaking of waking up at 5am, I had time to make pancakes for breakfast... seriously, how beautiful is this berry pancake? Okay, so maybe not so beautiful, but take headed of this: Target brand pancake mix... super yummy, super cheap. Can't beat that! This pancake was freaking delish.

 I"ve been getting comments left and right about this shoes, and to be honest, I just think they are so boring. It's funny when you wear something you're really excited about (ie. my platform shoes yesterday) and no one comments, and then you wear something you think is pretty run-of-the-mill, and everyone's into it. Weird. alos, don't mind the trash heap towering over our garbage can. It's a tiny trash can, give us a break!

Well everyone, that about it for me today. It's gonna be a great week. But you know me, always working for the weekend. Enjoy your week, I'm defnitely going to embrace being back at school and enjoy being with all my friends once again:) AND, I say this again, go Target and the Original Pancake mix, you won't be dissapointed!

Stay Classy San Diego

Hello Everyone!! this morning has been a VERY productive morning for me. I paid off the last bit of my credit card, never to worry about it again!! This is huge!! I never had a ton of debt, but when you don't work, even the minimun payment feels like a maximum. But no more worries! Thanks Lord!! He takes care everyone. He certainly does.

Have you ever thought about what Jesus meant when he said "I come to give you life abundant."? I dont think, in fact I'm pretty 100% certain that Jesus didn't die for us to make sure that Christians are wealthy and that they all have the cars and homes of their dreams. Because... I would say that earnestly following the Lord, I am living life in full. I'm totally living a wonderfully abundant life... my marriage is super happy (blessings), I have the GREATEST, seriously GREATEST friends and family a person could ask for (more blessings), I'm going to school to learn how to effectively lead others in worship for crying out loud (even more blessings)!!  I dont know, My husband (being the super amazing Spritual Leader that he is), and I have been thinking about that a lot lately. What does the Lord really mean when He says that He wants to bless us? Financial blessings are super great, I'm not negating that, but in a lot of ways I think our ideas, and His ideas I think have gotten mixed up. Okay, soap box moment over. What do you think?

OKAY! ANYWAYS!!! Second installment of pictures from San Diego. Oh, Em, Gee. What a great day this was! My parents took Nathan and I to this great little french cafe on University, everything inside was a beautiful as could be. Seriously, whenever I see a case full of pastries, I just die, becuase I want to sample every single one. I held back... mostly because I didn't want to obligate my dad to the check. I ordered probably the most delicious Yogurt Parfait I think I have ever had, and as you can see, I was very very very excited about. Look how beautiful it was! You'd be stoked too.

 I was trying to take one of those cool "candid" pictures of us just casually looking cool at a french cafe... Instead it just looks like I'm screaming at my Dad. HAHAHA. This picture literally makes me laugh out loud. Let me narrarate this picture:

ME: DAD! you're supposed to look cool, you know, like you don't know the camera's there
DAD: What?
MOM: (thinking to herself) This is just silly
NATHAN: (thinking to himself) I'm truly the most patient man in history.

 Nathan ordered a breakfast panini. It was delish, I had a bite.

 Our day was filled with thrift store shopping, so I didn't have a ton of oppertunity to take a million pictrues, as I would have liked, but I did capture this heartfelt moment. Nathan reading about his hero: James Van Der Beek. He was enthralled as you can see:)
