They don't want to eat the fish, they just want to make it late for something

Oh Em Gee everyone. This weekend was super super crazy, and I had NOOOO time to take any real pictures. Sorry! I've been slaving away over money stuff for school and life, Taxes, FAFSA, you know the drill, all very tedious, all very necessary. Oh money, what a pain. Anyways, this weekend was really fun. My Friday was so restful and nice, and my Saturday was super fun in Stockton.

Here are the pictures to prove my glorious time. No outfit posts as I didn't really wear anything super worthy of a post, but you'll see what I wore to my show. I wore maybe the worst outfit in the world to the nail salon with my mom, but our nail salon is in WAL-MART!!! So... fashion isn't exactly the first thought on my mind when sitting in the pedicure chair.
The Obligatory ride to Stockton Picture. Look how buff Nathan is! I always comment on it. ha.
 My super huge Beer  water.
HAHAHA!! how over the top is this pedicure. The girl just went for it without asking me, so this is what I got. But hey, It's super fun, so I'm gonna stick with it. I feel like this is exactly what you should expect getting your pedicure at Wal-Mart.
My favorite fruit, and the Latte that my Dad made me. My dad is the king barrista.
These are a few shots from the show. It was super fun. I played with some other bands that I totally didn't fit with, but they were really talented, and SUPER nice:)
I'm sure you're surprised that I wore my Man Repeller sweater.
Just a shot of my mom's flowers. SO beautious.
Nathan was recording last night at TJ's and I found these little gems. They didn't even cover my whole eye, and the arm didn't even reach my ears!! But still a good look I would say.
Nathan and the men friends working away. They've now named Kevin the Ace of Bass...Think Motorhead "Ace of Spades"...Not Ace of Base "I saw the sign" the 90's pop band. I am really super glad that I got the "Making Great Music" Banner in the shot. However, I didn't manage to get a picture of the "Heroes of our Community Banner" With cartoons of policemen and firemen and doctors and teachers. Cute.

Also, on a totally random side-note, I think when I grow up, I'd like to be a guidance counselor. I know my guidance counselor in High School really super encouraged me and I credit her as my inspiration to ever go to college... I dont know, I really love to talk to/help/ minister to people in trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives.

Well everyone, thats about it. Kind of a weird post. I think I'm getting sick, which is something I'm not used to. I never got sick before starting school, I think it's from lack of sleep and over working my body by staying up all day every day. Oh well. Everyone! Stay Rested! it's good for your health!! See you soon :)

This Is The Soundtrack To Our Movie

Apr 8, 2011

Hi Everyone! I hope you're all having a great FRIDAY!! Yay, the weekend!! This weekend is gonna be so fun. I'm playing a show tomorrow night in Stockton at the HUB, which should be really fun, AND tonight we're celebrating my former Boss' birthday at the Lodi Brewery.

Today I did NOT go to school!! I needed a break from eartraining for one thing, and I didn't have to go to choir today, so...three day weekend! hooray!! So I'm here at Starbucks blogging away. Thank goodness for the free internet that abounds at Starbucks, and for the huge Russian men with Huge gold chains around their necks who are speaking Russian next to me. I love listening to other languages.

ANYWAYS! This is what I decided to wear to day. I bought this dress yesterday and I was so excited about it, I had to wear it today. THE SLEEEEVES!!! They are my most favorite in all of the world, and the print, and the color, and the chiffon...so much beauty, I douln' resist the urge to wear it. The craziest thing of all is the fact that this is a Jovovich Hawk Dress from Target (of course I bought it at Freestyle)! Target's designer coloborations are my favorite, but they are kind of expensive for Target, so I never buy them brand new.
I thought I would venture outside of the box today with taking pictures, and not take them against our back fence and instead wander around my apartment complex. I dont know if walking on this ledge is allowed, I know that if I were a little girl I probably wouldn't have been allowed.

the Hem/Trim/Print/Colors.... are equally my favorite thing about this dress. I love ruffly chiffon.

ANOTHEr WJU FEATURE!! This fine little woman is one of my most favorite people on campus. She is just adorable on all levels. She is a fellow musician and blogger (!) on campus, so we havea ton to talk about. Besides the fact that she's totally cute, and that she loves clothes, she heart for the Lord is huge, AND this girl sings soooo great. Think... Shakira meets.... Broadway meets.... who knows, he voice is so unique and beautiful. I just love love love my little Nicole. When she walked into conducting, I knew I had to feature her. She is nailing the 70's trend right now.

OH YEAH!! how coudl I forget?! Nathan cooked dinner the other night... it was sooooo yummy. Chicken and Rice. It was just perfect. I wish there was more, I would have gone back for seconds. This is my beautiful husband in action. Haha.

Well, that about it for me, I really need to get going. I have a ton of stuff to do before Nathan gets off at 4, and it's definitely 3:28. Good grief. When does the time go? Anyways, be productive this weekend? It feels so great to be able to cross stuff off of a to-do list. I can't wait for tomorrow night. If you're in the Stockton, CA area, like I said earlier, I'm playing a show at Quail Lakes Baptist Church at 8pm. It's free, so you should probably come! If I dont see you tomorrow night, I'll see you soon!!

I won't say that women belong in the kitchen, but they don't belong in the dugout

Apr 6, 2011

Hello everyone!! It's such a beautiful day, and I'm having a great one. I really am. I just feel like there's nothing the Lord cannot do, and thats true, so what a great way to feel right? Man. Anyways, why am I having a great day you ask? Well, I've just found out that Im going to be one of the team leads for WJU Chapel worship next year!! I'm so excited! I'm afraid my team might think I'm a Nazi, but they'll be glad after a while... ALSO, I turned in a paper that has been looming over my head for about 3 weeks, so I feel lighter than air. Projects are beginning to be turned in, so that means by the time Spring break rolls around... no homework over break, and I just have the time of my life in San Diego with my family. Woo Hoo!!

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. Are you getting tired of the skirt yet? I'm not...obviously because I wear it at least once a week, I'm so obsessed with it. AND how girly is this super frilly top? I just love it. The color is actually my favorite thing about it. It's actually warm enough for me to wear it without a sweater, so I'm really glad about that. It has a racerback so it's kind of different in the back, and I like that.
Thats my husbands guitar, because we all know, I'm not that cool. I just play the piano.

I thought with this post I would give you a tour of mine and Nathan's little apartment. Here it is:
 KITCHEN: Enter chauvinistic joke now.
 DINING ROOM: (alright dining spot)
I wear this necklace almost every single day, it's my most favorite necklace of all time. My mom got it for me when she went to Alaska.
(ITS 7AM at the time of this photo so here's the door to our bedroom...Nathan's still asleep)
 WIFE TIME
So maybe it's not in the cards that I should take a good picture of these wonderful little wedges. Who knows.
Since I do get to school pretty early in the morning and it's pretty chilly, I threw on my motorcycle jacket. It oddly works. I feel like it makes me look really tough.

WJU FEATURE!!!!! The Insanely Fashionable and Insanely Gorgeous Breanne McCluskey. Just get a load of her beauty shall we. She is AMAZING! Not to mention so sweet and thoughtful, and in love with life. Whenever I ask her where she got something it always "Oh some hole in the wall place in Rome" or "Oh some great little flea market in Paris". You know the usual spots. I want to be her.
UGH!!! this bag. It makes me covet my neighbor so bad right now. not to mention the shoes. Oh Breanne, you beautious woman you.

Well everyone, thats about it for me today. GREAT DAY. Thanks Lord!! Great things happening. It's time for me to go, and prepare for my spring recital. Tell me how much you love Breanne's beautiful outfit!! More Jessup features to come, but the internet's being weird at school right now. See you soon!!

Consider the whole picture, not just our little selves.

Apr 5, 2011

Hello everyone!! Did you have a great day? I kind of did. Choir went great... my math class...not so much. I don't know how the heck I'm going to learn how to graph polynomial equations, but Im not really super worried about it.

Today was the TOMS No Shoes Day. So...I didn't wear shoes to school today. It was a really interesting thing. Not wearing shoes in public made me super uncomfortable, not only is walking on concrete all day not comfy on my feet, but every time I wanted to go somewhere, I looked for my shoes to put them on, like a nervous reaction or something. HOWEVER, this day served it's purpose in that, as I was about to complain about how dirty or painful my feet were, I instantly thought of children who go every single day without shoes, and have much more difficult lives than me. So it was a very reflective day.

This is what I decided to wear today. Not super exciting. Just a maxie dress with a jean jacket. it was comfy and cool, and it worked for not having shoes.

Look at how short my little tosies are!! Aren't they weird!?
So how cool is this: as I was walking through campus, I stumbled upon a PIANO BATTLE! I wish I had video of these insanely talented women. It was A-MAY-Zing. WJU has super talented musicians, it's just awesome. This was to promote our Night Of Classics event coming up next week. It's gonna be very special.
I think the precurssor to being a super great piano player is having super beautiful hair. Not to mention they are both super great women of influence, who both have a passion for serving the Lord. Seriously, I can't talk up the quality of WJU music students enough. Namely these two girls. Gabri and Sara... real quality.
I always look on sarah's hair with jealousy. What a beauty. Not mention the color of that top. Perfection.
Here are some more ladies with no shoes on!!
Thats about it for me today. I have to continue working on my paper. I've been distracted long enough. After tomorrow, all my trials will be over. not. See you soon!!

Apr 4, 2011

Good morning everyone! I'm once again being an awful person and blogging during class. Was your weekend good? Mine was. It wasn't really that exciting, I did a lot of homework, and I just slep a lot, which is great, because I hardly slept at all over the past two weeks. I really needed the rest.

I did however sell at Freestyle, and that was fun. I didn't make a killing, but I didn't bring in a lot. I bought a few new things, and like always, I love chatting with the adorable girls that work there (not to mention the attractive man-help). We also took a friend of ours form out of town to The Squeeze Inn. Have you ever been there? They were featured on 'Diners Drive-ins and Dives"! Isn't that crazy?! It's no wonder really, their food is delish. It's fun to have a place thats the super great, thats specific to the Sacramento area. Also a fun fact: I went to Prom and Winter Formal with the Owner's son in High School, Good ol' Jim Elliot!! I should find the pictures from that and put them on here. Good times.

This is what I decided to wear today. I have an audition today for a singing group at Jessup that has a choreography section, so I couldn't wear a long flowy dress with cute little sandals. That would be all bad. So this outfit is a little bit different than what I'm used to wearing. AND while I'm used to wearing skinny jeans/jeggings, I'm not really used to wearing tops that aren't super long, or wearing a sweater thats super long. So, as you might notice, I'm pretty....womanly! hahaha!! So in short, this outfit makes me a slightly self conscious!

How cute/sweet/fun is this little ring?! It's a little cat! Now, I'm not a cat person by any stretch, I only like one cat, and that's my Aunt Anita's Cat Yoda, who I will feature on this blog one day because he's a wonder of this world, BUT, this ring is so cute. It was only $5!! and I'm sure its no suprise that I found it at Freeestyle.
Here's a tiny little glimpse into the course of my weekend. Homework, Squeeze Inn, and other weird findings!!
Well everyone thats about it for me. Look at those burgers! That yellow around the burger is the cheese! I can't eat it all, it's wayyyy to much for me, but wow, are those burgers yummy. It's hard to say which I like Better, In n Out, Five Guys, or Squeeze Inn.... In n Out definitely comes in 3rd... Anyways, if you live in the Sacramento and you're not vegan/vegetarian, like a LOT of my friends here at school, check out the squeeze inn, it's soooo good. Also, if you think about, wish me luck with my audition later this afternoon, Auditions always make me soooo nervous!!! See you soon!

That we find a crystal or a poppy beautiful means that we are less alone

Apr 1, 2011

Hi Everyone!! What a BEEAUTIFUL day it is today! I absolutely love it! This day is turning out to totally rock. I nailed my freaking ear training mid-term. The bulk of my crazy homework load is done and turned in. I feel like I've had a million lb. weight taken off of my shoulders, making this day even more beautiful!

Anyways, who's ready for the weekend? I am so ready to sleep in, I'm ready to work on something other than ear training homework, I'm ready to watch the Office on DVD with husband and talk about our day instead of asking him to watch it in our room so I can do homework, AND most of all, Im ready to not feel like a CRAZY PERSON! All I can say is, I've made it, It's all downhill from here. Even finals seem like a breeze compared to the insane workload I have just endured.

This is what I decided to wear today. It's literally 83 degrees outside right now, and i'm sooooo happy to be wearing a dress. I love love love dresses! Especially this dress. This might be my favorite thing in my closet right now. This vintage dress that has poppies all over it! The California poppy is the state's official flower, so in honor of my love for California, and it's beautiful weather, I give you this dress! It did originally have elastic sleeves, making them really poofy and a little bit over-whelming, but I just cut a little slit in the back and they now full beautiful bell sleeves. I'm glad I have it a shot. I know this dress is quite the statement peice, but you know, I love it, and I'll probably wear it again soon!

I had to email my homewor to my teacher this morning, but song "Take on Me" by Aha came on...so I just did all my work in my car. Thats like one of my favorite songs of all time. It's got probably one of the best intros I've ever heard. Man, 80's at it's finest.
Also, last night, as I might have mentioned, Nathan and I drove to Elk Grove to have Thai Food with my parents and my brother who is home for spring Break from San diego. He's going to art school down there. It's crazy what people do with computers these days, I know that made me sound really old like 100, but I'm serious! My brother is quite the artist. This is the Thai Tea that I ordered. It was delish!

Ahh yes, this is what kept me awake all night as I droned away in my ear training. Do you know how hard it is to  force yourself to stay up when your beautiful husband is sleeping away?!! HOWEVER, I feel like the Lord rewarded our class for all of our super duper hard work, because our teacher, who is brillian/crazy and slightly relentless, allowed us to have class outside on the patio at Peets!! It was by far the best day of Ear Training ever, Even if we did discuss Italian, German, and French Augmented 6ths. You know, just your average every day Music theory discussion. So... Dr Keller, after all of our complaining and whining, and for your patience with such behavior, THANK YOU!! Not to mention, that ear training pays off immediately, I'm a much better musician for having taken it, and I think my experience at WJU would be lacking if I never took a class from the legend that is now Derek Lee Keller!

Anyways, thats it for me today. What a week! The Lord has really shown me what truly relying on him for strength actually looks like. I never could have made it through with week without Him working in my life. He is so strong! He is so good. He totally brought me through. Try to relax a little bit this weekend, and spend time with people that you love, I know I will, now that I'm not going insane:) See you soon!
