Stay Classy San Diego

Apr 22, 2011

Hello Everyone!! this morning has been a VERY productive morning for me. I paid off the last bit of my credit card, never to worry about it again!! This is huge!! I never had a ton of debt, but when you don't work, even the minimun payment feels like a maximum. But no more worries! Thanks Lord!! He takes care everyone. He certainly does.

Have you ever thought about what Jesus meant when he said "I come to give you life abundant."? I dont think, in fact I'm pretty 100% certain that Jesus didn't die for us to make sure that Christians are wealthy and that they all have the cars and homes of their dreams. Because... I would say that earnestly following the Lord, I am living life in full. I'm totally living a wonderfully abundant life... my marriage is super happy (blessings), I have the GREATEST, seriously GREATEST friends and family a person could ask for (more blessings), I'm going to school to learn how to effectively lead others in worship for crying out loud (even more blessings)!!  I dont know, My husband (being the super amazing Spritual Leader that he is), and I have been thinking about that a lot lately. What does the Lord really mean when He says that He wants to bless us? Financial blessings are super great, I'm not negating that, but in a lot of ways I think our ideas, and His ideas I think have gotten mixed up. Okay, soap box moment over. What do you think?

OKAY! ANYWAYS!!! Second installment of pictures from San Diego. Oh, Em, Gee. What a great day this was! My parents took Nathan and I to this great little french cafe on University, everything inside was a beautiful as could be. Seriously, whenever I see a case full of pastries, I just die, becuase I want to sample every single one. I held back... mostly because I didn't want to obligate my dad to the check. I ordered probably the most delicious Yogurt Parfait I think I have ever had, and as you can see, I was very very very excited about. Look how beautiful it was! You'd be stoked too.
 Aforementioned overwhelmingly beautiful pastry case.
the yogurt parfait of my dreams
Probably one of the mest mochas I have ever had. I don't think they meant to put an "N" on it, but I like to say that it was an "N" for Nathan...
Nathan's fancy mocha...
I was trying to take one of those cool "candid" pictures of us just casually looking cool at a french cafe... Instead it just looks like I'm screaming at my Dad. HAHAHA. This picture literally makes me laugh out loud. Let me narrarate this picture:

ME: DAD! you're supposed to look cool, you know, like you don't know the camera's there
DAD: What?
MOM: (thinking to herself) This is just silly
NATHAN: (thinking to himself) I'm truly the most patient man in history.
Nathan ordered a breakfast panini. It was delish, I had a bite.
Our day was filled with thrift store shopping, so I didn't have a ton of oppertunity to take a million pictrues, as I would have liked, but I did capture this heartfelt moment. Nathan reading about his hero: James Van Der Beek. He was enthralled as you can see:)

So thats about it for me to day. I really would like to know what you think about what Jesus coming to give us "life abundant" what do you think that really means? I've already told you, so you already know what we think. ANYWAYS! I hope you enjoyed this second installment of San Diego Dreamin'. HA. See you soon!!

All I Ever Wanted Seems To Be Right... In San Diego

Apr 21, 2011

So everyone, I am back. Against my will, I have come back from San Diego. If you have ever been there, you will know my obession with this beautiful city. The Weather was out of this world, Not hot, not cold, just sunny and beautiful and perfect! the Trip was soooo wonderful. Here are a few pictures for you indugle in. I decided that, while I really did want to look at cute as I possibly could, I decided that I was going to concentrate mostly on having a super great time with my family, that I dont get to see very often.

This is what I decided to wear on our first day out and about. This fine fellow is a King Waffle of the Waffle Spot the precious waffle joint that was attached to our hotel. Want some '70's wonderment in your life? Stay at the Kings Inn on Hotel Circle. It was awesome.
The Freestyle gods (litte "g" to be sure) have finally smiled on me. I say that like they never have before, but they do... only every single time I go in there. Anyways, these wooden platforms have been my hearts number one desire for spring fashion for a while now. So, I was very happy with my luck when they happened to be in the store. They are great shoes for sitting in the Waffle Spot, not so much for walking around the San Diego Zoo.
This strapping young lad is my younger brother Chris! Isn't he handsome. He's goin to school down in SD to make Video games!! He had the oppertunity to show one of his creations to SONY today! I can't wait to hear what they said. They probably loved it. Chris is suuuuuuper good at pretty much anything computers/art.
Here are some street performers at Sea Port Village. I'm pretty sure this guy was probably one of the obnoxious children in his elementary school class... he was super funny.
Then there was this freaky girl.
And this cool guy!!! He had a cool wife too, but she was somewhere else!! I couldn't stop staring at this crrrrrazy bike! It's so cool... and kind of beautiful in a way!
ANNNNDDD here are a few cool-guy pics, because no post about a vacation could possibly be complete without them.
Well everyone, this is it for the first installment of pictures from our trip. While I did have an absolute blast in San Diego, I really did miss being able to blog it up. Our hotel had terrible internet. I tried to post, and it literally took hours and hours to upload pictures. So, i wasn't able to post. ANYWAYS!! I hope your all enjoying this spring break, or that you thouroughly enjoyed it when you had it!! Stay tuned for more more more!!! See you soon!!

San Diego Day One: Stopping in Malibu to visit Matt

Apr 17, 2011

Hi Everyone!! I hope you're all doing glorious, as I totally am being here in San Diego. We just got in last night... our day of traveling lasted easily 12 hours. But not because of traffic, because of visiting my Brother Matt in Malibu!! It was so much fun!! My brother's not a "cool-guy" you know the type, deisel jeans and pointy dress shoes with sunglasses on inside, but he is like... the coolest guy! He has recently graduated (okay about a year ago) from LA Recording School, where he's learned all of this cool music production stuff, and so now he works in Santa Monica with a Music Producer and he gets to do all this really great stuff that he loves! It's so great! I'm sooooo proud to have him as a brother.

Anyways, this is my Travel outfit. You have to wear something comfy otherwise a 12 hour drive could feel even longer! This dress was one of my thrift store finds with my mom. Look how beautiful the trees are on my parent's street! They are just so full and green. They line the street so wonderfully. I often get distracted by them. Gosh, I love springtime! I didn't wear make-up because... what's the point when you're just sitting in a car? I should have taken a picture of the car we drove. Matt's old car's transmission blew out, so we drove his new car to him...a big ol' white Buick. We were driving to SD in style... grandma style. Which just happens to kind of be my style :)

Driving along the water was soooo beautiful! It's so much prettier in real life than in it is in this sorry little picture.
So this is the balcony of the House my brother lives at  has been working at for the past two months. It was incredible! I mean... no other words can describe this view. Oh my gosh. Not to mention the absolute glory of this weather! I was having a ball.
This is real folks! I was looking at/ being overwhelmed by this in real life. I coudln't believe where I was.
This little dooney is my very favoritist bag. The colors are beyond great. I bought this a few years back before I really started getting into them, and the fact that I have NEVER ever considered selling this just goes to show what me and this little purse were meant to be. Oh yeah, and there's a little whale statue.
Just me and my Eagle Pal.
Here we are! AHHHH.... look at the view!! It's so beautiful! Rumor has it that Jennifer Anniston lives in one of those beach houses down there. I didn't go down and knock on the door, so I can't know for sure.
This is the true reason Nathan thought this place rocked.
this is why I liked it.
Absolutely. Insanely. Gorgeous. I coudn't believe my eyes.
There's my little bro! He's a very stylish man. I'm being serious! Being into clothes is definitely one thing we have in common. AND he's the only person I know who can work Lyle Lovett hair. He's a hard worker as you can see. In fact, there's everyone (sans my dad, who I think was continuing his own tour of this house). Get a load of that natural light.
Well everyone... thats about it for me. I hope you enjoyed this first installment of my trip. More photos and entries to come. I hope your spring break is going as well as mine!! If you didn't even go anywhere, make sure you give yourself time to rest and take it east! It's spring break for pete's sake!

See you Soon :)

Spring Break in San Diego

Spring Break in San Diego

Sooo no outfit posts today, as I was told that I had to wear all black for choir, I decided that I would post my dream wardrobe for spring break.  You'll see soon what my real wardrobe was :)

See you soon!!

Away above the chimney tops, Thats where you'll find me

Apr 12, 2011

Hey Everyone!! I hope you're all having a great day. I am. I have my math class today, but whatevs, I'm just drown myself in cold medicine and be in a fog. Wow... what a healthy way to deal with stress. Anyways, I'm not going to do that.

My day started off a little bit differently. I got to school super early as I customarily do to work on homework in the Library, and as soon as I was done with it, I got a call from my friend to go record BGVs on the song "Over the Rainbow". So I said "Heck yeah" and shot on over. It was really quick, but it was really super fun. I hope it goes somewhere, people need to hear it, it's super pretty!

Anyways, this is what I decided to wear today. The weather has been super great, but kinda chilly, so I decided to go for jeans today. These hole-y ol' jeans are my very very very favorite. they're super comfy, and when then start to get stretched out, they actually look better on you than they did right out of the dryer!
I took all of my pictures today in the fields around Jessup. When Nathan and I were drving home on Sunday morning I was commenting on how I just wanted to run through the beautiful feilds in a dress and be free, nad he rebutted my notion with the fact that I have the worst allergies in the world and that my face would swell up and my eyes would go crazy and so would my nose.... He was right. As I was taking these pictures that exactly what happen. No "feild running in a dress" for me. Shucks.

One other thing that never occured to me while I was standing in this field, was the fact that snakes and mice and lizards are running all over the place! While I dont mind lizards so much, I really dont care  for the other two.

Last night I made red velvet cupcakes once more. If you have the mix, then why not?! Nathan frosted them again, and this time I wasn't gonna get the photo oppertunity to get away. Here he is in manly cupcake frosting glory!
Look at the batter in the bowl, doesn't it look so crazy?! It's so red...scary.
As you can see, he's very proud of his workmanship. So am I. They were very yummy.

Well everyone, thats about it for me. If "Over The Rainbow" ever available to the public, I'll let you know, Greyson Kesnich is one very talented guy, and so is Chris True for that matter, both of these guys are total beasts when it comes to music, so if the song every comes out, I'm sure you'll just love it. Also before I go, let me remind you that God has everything in his control. He's smarter than us, and he's stronger than us. He knows better than us, and maybe for some of you, you want to be the one in control, but for me, I like being the one who doens't have to have it all together. God is soooooo good. I hope you guys have a great rest of your day. I'll see you soon!

They don't want to eat the fish, they just want to make it late for something

Apr 11, 2011

Oh Em Gee everyone. This weekend was super super crazy, and I had NOOOO time to take any real pictures. Sorry! I've been slaving away over money stuff for school and life, Taxes, FAFSA, you know the drill, all very tedious, all very necessary. Oh money, what a pain. Anyways, this weekend was really fun. My Friday was so restful and nice, and my Saturday was super fun in Stockton.

Here are the pictures to prove my glorious time. No outfit posts as I didn't really wear anything super worthy of a post, but you'll see what I wore to my show. I wore maybe the worst outfit in the world to the nail salon with my mom, but our nail salon is in WAL-MART!!! So... fashion isn't exactly the first thought on my mind when sitting in the pedicure chair.
The Obligatory ride to Stockton Picture. Look how buff Nathan is! I always comment on it. ha.
 My super huge Beer  water.
HAHAHA!! how over the top is this pedicure. The girl just went for it without asking me, so this is what I got. But hey, It's super fun, so I'm gonna stick with it. I feel like this is exactly what you should expect getting your pedicure at Wal-Mart.
My favorite fruit, and the Latte that my Dad made me. My dad is the king barrista.
These are a few shots from the show. It was super fun. I played with some other bands that I totally didn't fit with, but they were really talented, and SUPER nice:)
I'm sure you're surprised that I wore my Man Repeller sweater.
Just a shot of my mom's flowers. SO beautious.
Nathan was recording last night at TJ's and I found these little gems. They didn't even cover my whole eye, and the arm didn't even reach my ears!! But still a good look I would say.
Nathan and the men friends working away. They've now named Kevin the Ace of Bass...Think Motorhead "Ace of Spades"...Not Ace of Base "I saw the sign" the 90's pop band. I am really super glad that I got the "Making Great Music" Banner in the shot. However, I didn't manage to get a picture of the "Heroes of our Community Banner" With cartoons of policemen and firemen and doctors and teachers. Cute.

Also, on a totally random side-note, I think when I grow up, I'd like to be a guidance counselor. I know my guidance counselor in High School really super encouraged me and I credit her as my inspiration to ever go to college... I dont know, I really love to talk to/help/ minister to people in trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives.

Well everyone, thats about it. Kind of a weird post. I think I'm getting sick, which is something I'm not used to. I never got sick before starting school, I think it's from lack of sleep and over working my body by staying up all day every day. Oh well. Everyone! Stay Rested! it's good for your health!! See you soon :)
